Personally I think it is best to be honest about it - a note from your dentist wouldn't go amiss either It should be fine - as long as you can explain why and have evidence (as always ) to back it up then I can't see they would have a problem with it

I don't actually have my own dentist. Went to the dental hospital in glasgow as emergency as the infection as got into my jaw. I have the box and a stamped card from the dental hospital. Do you think that will do. I just want to cover all my bases due to the fact that the drug is used for something like treatment of alcoholics.

I'm pretty sure that would be ok - I mean the drug was prescribed to you by the dentist so any prescriptions/paperwork will have that on it - just take everything you have - it might not even show up on the blood test

Hey Debz, maybe you should call the medical office and ask them if it might be a problem, and if it might, postpone your medical appt. by a few days. Can't hurt to ask, right?

Yay!! Panic over!!!

Maybe we should set up a cat thread in the OT forum Julez named her new kitty after my last cat who died a couple years ago It's great - I was so excited I was running around the house telling my mum and her bloke - they didn't seem as happy as me!!!

Think my mum's OH is a little upset I am taking Daisy with me - Jasper was very much "his" cat but Daisy is mine and he is a real cat person too - mum doesn't want another - she didn't want Daisy but I got lucky (another story!) She prefers birds(!)

my wee kitty staying here at my parents in the scottish countryside to live out her twilight years. She's a really nervous timid cat and I think the stress of travelling would finish her off. Sad to leave her but it's for the best.

And you can invest in 7 cats like Mags... actually go for 8 - she thinks 7 is a bit of an odd number and you don't want to make late decisions like that... I think 10 is a nice round number... no room for kids though

on another more positive note....the job nick waiting to hear from...basically the place wont find out that it has funding for the positions until 8th maybe later but they reckon they need 5 more people. The manager is writing Nick a letter to send saying that as long as they recieve funding he has the job, at least it shows that he is looking and is employable....I mean he's only been back in US 4 weeks and over festive period too. That's lifted a wee bit of stress.

This may be a little more consolation too...when they do drug testing, they test for specific drugs/categories like the obvious such as...THC (Marijuana), Cocaine, PCP, Opiates, Methamphetamines, Methadone, Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Oxycodone, MDMA (ecstasy) and Propoxyphene (PPX). In the US as far as I know metronidazole is NOT approved for treatment of alcoholism. I'm not an AODA nurse, but I am a nurse and I've never heard of that (just did a little research here too) and I believe the reason is obvious...it's dangerous to drink while on this med. I really really don't think that they would be testing you for antibiotics at all for a drug screen. Their concern is illegal/illicit drug abuse.

CBR thanks for that. Always good to put mind at rest. Was just worried as here they do use it to treat alcoholics. Now I do enjoy my friday night zinfandel but by no means am I an alcoholic!!!!!! Wish I could stop chomping on my cheek but it's so swollen...my face feels lopsided!
