So my touch was not a good touch! I received the dreadful RFE in the mail!! They want me to show evidence of having met each other in the past two years between the dates September 24, 2005 - September 24, 2007. Now I met my SO in August 2005, last saw him August 28, 2005, filed in July 2007, provided evidence that we met within two years of that period. The received date on my NOA1 says July 27th 2007 clearly! I called USCIS today and talked to this person and told him the story, he said "it seems they are confused with the priority date" (my resubmission in September) "Send them a letter and let them know." So I sent the RFE response out today itself with a copy of my NOA1 and the received date highlighted with a million arrows pointing to it so they dont miss it.

I am just bummed out! I wish I could have applied a little earlier than July 07, just the way things were - we were just not sure where we wanted to live(in the US or India). I guess the people at USCIS are just unhappy that I applied last minute and didnt pay the higher fees. It seems like they are looking hard to find a reason to delay the application! Its so frustrating and so stupid that they cant follow their own rules. Called the congressman today but they were out. I cant wait to see him anymore, I was so close to visiting him in December but thought everyones getting approved maybe this will be it. I just wish this was over. Its been too darn long. :crying:

Dang! That really stinks! I'm sorry this has happened. Unfortunately, it seems that they have tunnel vision in these offices and don't look at the big picture..... I do understand your frustration... we did get approved however.... our NOA2 has the consulate wrong.... seems it's going to be an act of congress (and I don't say that lightly) to get this corrected. I have been calling both CSC and NVS to no avail... one doesn't know what the other is doing. Congressmen and Senator's appear to not be able to be bothered with my little "imigration issue".

All you can do is follow the guidelines and send in the info with a letter and pray and pressure these idiots to rectify their error! I wish you much luck and success!

Congrats on the NOA2! Wrong consulate?!!! They talk about training new people, clearly wrong training. My Petitioner # is different on this RFE than it was on the NOA1 too! If congressmen and senators dont do anything, I almost feel like going to the media. But then who knows, our petitions might then forever just sit in a cabinet buried under millions more! Thanks so much and Good luck to you as well! I am trying to stay calm but its hard.

Tell me something Tess, they (NVC) dont use the NOA2? So the whole petition is then forwarded to them?

A smooth visa journey and much speed to all!

Thanks! You're right it is so hard to be calm. I'm grateful for the approval but then again.... how valid is it if my finace' is from one country and they have the consulate listed as a completely different country??!! I'm thinking.... not very!

What NVC told me is that it doesn't matter what is on the NOA2, they go by their own records (I'm assuming the info they pull off of the petition) but I have to wonder.... if that's the case, why don't we just send our petitions straight to NVC???? What I understand is that they whole petition is sent to NVC. Which is a good thing especially in my case but I just have to wonder how factual the information I'm receiving is. We were approved on Dec 4th..... NVC still hasn't received our case..... ridiclous!!!!!

:crying:

Ugh, how annoying :bonk: :bonk: well, hopefully it will get straightened out....u should've also ;pointed out cuz of their lack of efficiency, u have been further delayed from meeting ur SO
