Yes, it has changed...now it is a shipping container, once filled they load it onto a converted steamship that is powered by four chinchilla and a billy goat. The captain is a retired circus chimpanzee and the navigator is a one eyed pigeon. They hold a world records from CSC to The Cape of Good Hope, but this fact has only even been recognized by the last remaining Dodo and we could not locate him to confirm or comment.

That's hardly fair now. It's an insult to retired circus chimpanzees everywhere!

Mox I love the NOA2 kitten.. so cute.

CBR, I'm really sorry things aren't going well. Its high time you RFE trick this thing again.

I've been off dealing with some relationship problems (no doubt aided by this longgg delay) but am happy to say that she is fighting for it after a period of seeming to drift away.

I just checked online again for the 10th time today and we are approved. Wish I could be excited but I'm not due to the 158 @#%$&*! days it took. thanks for nothing CSC please get my app out of your incompetent hands soon.

I am sooo pleased for you DKM - the r'ship probs will sort themselves out with plenty of talking and compromise between you I am sure - Jeremy and I went through that where I never saw him and he was hurt by that - we've sorted things now - we don't see each other much online and when we do we are aware it is nowhere near as good as the real thing - we've just both realised now that we can't put our lives on hold to sit in front of a computer every spare second of our lives :)

Approved!

Timeline updated as well.

Good luck to all others waiting!

Gratzies!!! :D

Oh - some questions!! Obviously now with NOA2 in hand (at least electronically) we are moving forward... Do we need to phone NVC to find out if the file has arrived there? Or do we need to call CSC? Is there a kinda step-by-step procedure (with phone numbers and questions to ask) of who to nag and when?! Would be nice to have something a little more concrete now I have given up refreshing the USCIS page  Lemme see if I can guess and perhaps some kind people can fill in the blanks?!

Rec NOA2

Get NOA2 hard copy

When should we call NVC? Number? What to ask? Do we get a case number?

How often should we call NVC? Why would we need to call DOS? How do we know when our file has left NVC?

Do we need to call the embassy to see if the file has been received? When should we book the medical?

You kinda get the idea... ;)

Alyson,

My electronic notification came on the 13th.

I waited until the 19th to call the DOS and asked if they could check if my visa documentation has arrived from Vermont. The lady on the other end asked what date it was approved and then told me that it might take longer to get there but checked anyway. They need the EAC receipt number that you have been staring at for the past 120+ days on the USCIS site.

She did find it and said it arrived on the 18th. but the new tracking number says it was entered on the 17th.

Another member, Courtney, had PM'd me asking if I had called yet on the 18th and then they got back to me saying theirs arrived on the 17th too.

I would make your first call about 5 - 7 days after the NOA2. If they do not have it call the next day, and the next... ad infinum.

Once they have it wait 2 - 3 days and call again asking if it has been forwarded yet, if not call again, repeat until it has been sent.

Actually, I wouldn't call them every single day. Jeraly's case is coming from CSC, which takes way longer than VSC to get to NVC. I agree, waiting 5-7 days after NOA2 is a good amount of time for the first call. But CSCers are taking, what, like a month or so, to get to NVC? So I think calling every day will be a waste of time and will add stress. Maybe someone here who has gone through this from the CSC side can give their opinion on how often to call?

Also, you can call DOS to get essentially the same information. I think some people had shorter wait times on the phone with them, but from what I've read, either one is fine to call.

It will probably take around 30-40 days to get to NVC as CSC is a bit slow. When NVC get it they will not hold it for long and they will issue a LND number which will be notified by mail to the USC. When you know what the LND number is you can schedule the medical at Knightsbridge doctors but I would make it about 3 weeks after the petition is forwarded to the embassy so that they have a chance to get Packet 3 to you.

You can call NVC to see if they have the petition from CSC and you would call DOS to see if the interview has been scheduled a week or so after you return Packet 3 to the embassy. It would be worth adding a covering letter to your packet 3 telling them about your wedding plan and including copies of any receipts and such you might have. Good luck

22nd March 2010 - Application received by CSC
