Thanks Jeraly, I did add the wrong date per your instruction then it should have read "July 31, 2007" rather than the date I mistakely put there that reads, "August 02, 2007". I tried to edit it but got the message that I don't have permission to edit this message

Yeah - I end up double posting when it does that I've added the proper date to the spreadsheet here.

Aha! I was quick enough to edit!! I forgot to mention that this date (31st Jul) will be the one you put in your NOA1 slot in your timeline as well

Everyone......Remember to PM me if anything happens with your petitions. I do read through the notes but it's easy to miss the odd one hidden away. I have a feeling it maybe a wee bit quiet on the update front for a couple of months. Anyone filing now is an August filer.

WeeDebz, you know I love the way you use the word "wee". I call up a lot of people from Ireland and Scotland and everyone there says it and it just makes me smile! I think I would sound weird saying it though - you need to have either a Scottish or Irish accent or saying "wee" just doesn't sound right... my Bristolian accent would sound hilarious!

Because Nick is living with me here in scotland for 6 months he's picking up the occaisional bit of Scots and I'm picking up the odd americanism. Both sound funny in each others accents. He has even started saying 'wee' sometimes.

I am working on the I-129F tonight and I got to thinking there are probably lots of others doing the same thing.

The other thread is for Green Card filers. This thread is for K-1 Fiance Visa Case Filing. If you are applying for a K-1, this is the place to be.

I too was a July filer - I thought sending a money order would be "safer" than a personal check - but now that I see that I could have gotten a case number off the back of my cashed check I am bummed - I sent out the I-129F on July 28 and it was received at VSC on July 31!! Yay!!!

Also a quick question - does anyone know the number to call to check on the case number?? I notice some of you have called - I havent been able to track down the appropriate number!

Just a quick note on the accents. I think the UK accent is so great. Phillip and I joke about my American slang and his UK slang. We tend to switch roles and he starts saying awesome and I say fantastic and he says corn and I say maize. We have a great time with that. I also found out horse trailers are horse boxes - very cute. When he calls I will immediately say "hey you" and he thinks I said "how are you" and says "fantastic how are you" and I say "great how are you?" We laugh about that every time. I can't wait to get over there in a couple of weeks. I feel I know his friends and family but seeing them and hearing the accents will be a bit strange at first.

The biggest things that cause hilarity for us are the simple ones like tomato and aluminium! I remember one time here we drove past faslane325 (the anti-nuke (and very smelly) peace camp) and he came out with "god damn hippies" that was it...I cracked up, tears streaming down my face whilst trying to drive! The other thing is as I speak a wee bitty gaelic I keep getting asked whilst I'm over there to just say something....I never know what to say!

Thank you - am rolling on the floor with laughter. Especially aluminum - you're right. The funniest that I can remember is that we were getting ready to set out on a hike and I asked if I should bring a "fanny pack". He just smiled and said "I hope so". Well, little did I know what fanny pack meant for them and that they call them bum bags. Share more - laughter is the best medicine! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!

the other things are swapping how I write the date...we do day-month-year, over there it's month-day-year. Also the american hatred of the latter 'u'.......flavour...colour.....

I think even still after over 18months taking almost daily, something always comes up and we are like...."what did you just say!?!?!"

I've been in the UK long enough that I've picked up - well, maybe not an English accent, but at least English enunciation (MUCH more precise than Australian)... mind you, English people say I still sound fairly Australian, but my Aussie friends all say I sound very English! going to be interesting to add another continent to the mix...

as for words, we've had many 'what did you say?' moments - the weirdest one so far I think is the silent American 'l' in 'solder' - I just don't get that at ALL
