Silly question: When the approved petition has been received at the NVC, do they update you on the USCIS website, or do you have to ring them yourself to find info about it?

I hope that makes sense...? :P

Not a silly question at all. I am actually wondering the same thing. Past the NOA2 stage, do we even login to the USCIS website anymore? Is it relevant? Is there a new website to check once we have the new case # from NVC, or do we enter this new case # into USCIS, or what?

You are nice like that. :D

I have this fear that when I get mine I will be so overexcited that I'll forget to PM you, look at the spreadsheet, and wonder why I'm not updated on it.

Nope...USCIS website useless. You can call NVC to chase it otherwise wait for packet 3 to land on your door mat. At least thios is what I believe is the case. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

My file still not at NVC

So... we log in to that site for months and months just for a stinking NOA2?! Just for step one of this process?

I shouldn't be surprised.

Anyway, thanks Debz!

I sent my 129F on September 21st 2007. Received receipt marked 10/1/07. Couple days will mark 60 days of the process. Starting to get concerned with how long it will take to get the approval...stressful!

Do you think having a lawyer moves the process along faster?

No, it absolutely does not. They don't get preferential processing or anything like that. I wish! (I have a lawyer.)

The only way it could possibly be faster is if you are a procrastinator and they do your paperwork faster than you would have done it.

So - I just spoke to a representative at the USCIS. No luck finding out what they need or even when I'll be receiving the letter. She said that if I don't see it in 15 days, to give them a call. I don't know what to do. This is eating away at me - I don't think I can take this. I just can't calm down - this is awful!

a-jeanne - I am so sorry. I can't imagine the stress you must be feeling. I am sure its something simple and will get straightened out quickly. the letter will probably come before 15 days - they always give long estimates to cover their behinds. at least once you know what's missing and get it back to them it is my understanding that they process it right away. have faith girl - an a glass of wine!

Congrats to all the other approvals!!!!

I am with Debz and still waiting for my petition to get to NVC. today is 2 weeks since the approval so I know it could still be a bit. I just check with NVC every day or two anyway because it can't hurt! Just hoping the day that they say 'we do have your petition and it has been forwarded to the embassy' comes soon!!!!

Thank you - your support is greatly appreciated. I will take you up on the glass of wine. Good thing the girls are with their dad tonight - maybe I'll settle for a bottle instead.

I just have to find a way to calm down. I am so worried - I can't explain it. Just no control over the situation and the not knowing is what is killing me.
