I really hope so - I know I still shouldn't start to worry but when I have my wedding in a little over two and a half months it is beginning to get to me :(

hang in there Jeraly!

the box with your petition will be on somebody's desk very soon! didn't they start approving july-filers like crazy?

it is all for the best and you will be the one using up all the dancing smileys very soon! :)

what really gets me is the fact that all my friends and relatives are asking me on a daily basis if i have my visa yet. you just really can't explain the process and all its difficulties to somebody who doesn't experience it.

plus, i start to feel anxious because the visa will be there anytime within the next 3 months. meaning i will leave my family and friends within the next 3 months. i am waiting and praying for the day when i can be with Eric for the rest of our lives, but leaving my family and friends on a different continent really brings the tears to my eyes.

i know that i will get along well in the US and we already lived together in the last year, so i'm not scared of that. but i am scared of homesickness.

can anybody relate to that or am i crazy?

You're definitely not crazy. On one hand I'm really excited to finally be reunited with Will, but on the other I'm worried about leaving my parents and brother behind. So I know exactly how you feel. I'm really nervous about how I'll cope with the homesickness...

Oh no!! I shouldn't have looked

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as January 1, 2008*.

We have almost the exact same timeline, so my expected date is 1/01/08 right now too... If we don't get our NOA2s before that, it'll be a hell of a way to start the new year! Good luck to you!

Well, my timeline is about a week before yours and my VJ date is December 15th now. It's gone from December 17 to the 28th and everywhere in between. So now I'm excited :)

Last I had looked before this it was Dec 18th. So dont get too excited.

and now I'm 01.03.07

My Natasha feels exactly as you do. It's exciting to be starting a new life with someone you love, but she has to give up so much too. Her parents, her aunts and uncles and cousins and nieces and nephews, and ESPECIALLY her sister with whom she is very very close. It's a scary leap into the great unknown, and as the other half all I can do is prepare to make the transition as comfortable and reassuring as possible, by providing all the love and care and support (physical and emotional) that I possibly can.

Good luck!

My OH has been confident that he will be fine...but recently he has been getting a bit worried too...

I have gotten quite homesick myself during my extended trips to the UK....and I can not imagine how people coped with the vast distances before Internet, Skype, and email. Usually a long conversation with my mom or a friend back home will snap me out of it ( I LOVE SKYPE!!!!) but it does not hurt to be prepared with familiar things and comforts of home. Silly things like my duvet and my favorite crackers that I can not get here in the UK.

So, I am also making a list of things he might miss when we go to the US....TEA...for one, I think is essential....the tea in the UK is much nicer....branston pickle too.

i havent posted in this thread for a veryyyyyy long time, but i figured now was the time

i got my NOA2 last week and my case is currently at the NVC...

i called NVC and found out that my case is being forwarded to the consulate in naples, italy rather than tirana, albania where i had request in my i-129f packet....my fiance was living in italy, but i specifically stated that he would be moving back to albania shortly and that we wanted to do the interview there...gosh dang it

so NVC told me that i needed to submit something in writing and hope that it gets to them before my petition leaves NVC...the letter arrived today at 930 am via fedex, but the woman i spoke to on the phone told me that there is no way she can tell if something has arrived in the mail room, and that they wont be getting to it today because of the large volume of mail they receive daily...what a crock!!!!!!!

in short, my case is almost certainly going to naples, and im going to have to depend on them to forward it to albania...lord save my soul with all this

Great topic here!!! My fiance is as calm as can be about moving away from everything he has ever known, all his family, friends, job, etc. I just don't get it!!!! I think I do all the worrying for him  He says he is just excited about his new life, his new wife and as long as he is with me he is happy. I appreciate that, but still I keep waiting for it to hit him. His mom and I talked about this at length and she too is surprised at how calm and ready for all this he seems! I don't know, if I were moving to him I would be all butterflies about now! anyway, just wanted to say to everyone who is making the leap, that I think it is totally normal to be nervous, excited, sad, and happy all at the same time and you should talk about it openly, seek support from those of us who understand (and of couse your SO's) to help make the adjustment easier. Just try to keep in mind how settled and secure we will probably all feel a year from now when this rollercoaster is behind us!

Lol - yeah - people don't seem to understand that we are waiting so anxiously just to be given the opportunity to apply for the visa

Oh so TOTALLY relate to all this - I am so so glad it isn't just me!! I know people get pre-wedding jitters but this is so much more - part of me is hoping I don't get the visa for Feb because I have convinced myself so thoroughly that I won't have it that I am not prepared at all!! Even if I do, everything is going to have to be done in such a rush because it will all be totally last minute.

Debz - I am really sentimental too - you wouldn't believe how much "stuff" I have amassed over the years - namely my video games and more specifically my books - I have a veritable collection of fantasy novels, classics and other general reading material and there is no way it won't be with me at some point!! Am defo going to be picking the things I *need* then ship the rest over later :)

Aww hun - I hope it gets sorted out sooner than that... maybe it will be like our projected dates on VJ  At least you can tell yourself two weeks seems like nothing after the long wait for NOA2 :)

My OH has been confident that he will be fine...but recently he has been getting a bit worried too...

I have gotten quite homesick myself during my extended trips to the UK....and I can not imagine how people coped with the vast distances before Internet, Skype, and email. branston pickle, tea, Irn Bru, haggis (real stuff), reasonable priced scottish single malt, HP sauce, houston brewery ale (infact just real ale), dragon palace (local chinese take away)...... I'm sure i'd think of more Agreed on the pickle, real cheese, Indian restaurants, bread, chocolate, decent cereal... anything without corn syrup in

TV:

father ted, red dwarf, little britain, still game I have all eight seasons of Red Dwarf on my puter if you want me to try and burn them sometime... might use a lot of CDs but will take up a reasonably small amount of space ;), sadly will miss the UK Apprentice, X-Factor or more specifically cosying down with my mum of an eve and watching them together - we really enjoy that time :)

random stuff:

popping down to fox and hounds with my brother and his girlfriend at 5mins notice (or my dad), the solid rock bar in glasgow (loads of mates there), cathouse (rockclub in glasgow), braehead shopping centre (i know where to find everything), being 10mins from coast, being 20mins from mountainsOh Debz - you should defo come down to Bristol and come to the Hatchet with me :Dhttp://www.thehatchet.co.uk/ I used to go there all the time when I had money to spend on taxis and things - I still like going down there from time to time but the more frequented rock/goth pub is now the Crown which I don't like half as much :P Will miss Friday night chippy, Tuesday night roleplay and generally just having a variety of friends that are close that I can call upon from time to time. Will also miss just being able to walk over to my friends' houses :( But it will all be worth it!!!

It has made me feel so so much better reading all this - it is nice to know that around the time I am beginning to freak out, everyone else seems to be having the same thoughts as me :)

*hugs to everyone*

We can all get through it together!!! :D

Oh - projected date back to 25 Dec again :) Still no USCIS action though :(
