My K1 had its first touch today (November 19) which is very exciting!!!!! I'm hoping for NOA-2 today, even if that's perhaps a little optimistic. Still, if I get NOA2 before Thanksgiving, it'll be way better than pumpkin pie!

Everytime someone gets approved I HAVE to check in at USCIS...just to see....even though I KNOW it is still a few weeks too early for our!

When I filed for my K-1 in July, I was living in an Apartment. In October I moved to a town home that I purchased and called USCIS to change my address. To date (Nov. 19th) I have had no confirmation by mail that they have updated their files with my new address. According to VJ my petition should be adjudicated some time in the end of December. So because, I will be on business travel for a few weeks after Thanksgiving, I called USCIS today verify my address change request and the woman told me that there is no way for her to verify my change of address over the phone as she does not have access to that information. Instead, she said that I should be getting a letter in the mail within 45 days of my request, confirming the change of address. Then in passing I told her perhaps I should notify the US Post office to reroute my mail to the new address, and she told me that USPS does not/will not reroute Official US Government mail, and that it is simply returned. unbelievable!

My problem is that before these 45 days, my petition should be adjudicated. Now I have to sit and worry where my NOA2 notice will be mailed to...hopefully to my new address. The best thing I can do is cross my fingers and hope the address change took place. Has anyone here had a similar experience? And if so, please give me some assurance that perhaps hope that the new address will be used when USCIS communicates with me in writing. Thank you.

That is some great customer service!

I think I would try calling again and follow the RFE prompts. When you get to a human tell them you are concerned that you might have received an RFE and not been aware of it because of your change of address. If you are insistent with them, I think they will check to see if your new address has been entered.
