no stress, GeordieLover; you'll get your NOA2 when it's baked through and ready to come out of the oven; you don't want one that's half raw and doesn't even have chocolate sprinkles on yet ;)

I would rather have a raw-cookie-dough-esque NOA2. Instant gratification. Course, I suppose that would have meant an August approval. I'll settle for something that's not burned then....

I waited 18 months the first time... it was right after 9-11

this is a cakewalk.. I can do this standing on my head..

It will likely slow down during the holidays, BUT there WILL be approvals in December! For example, during Dec. 2006 there were 135 I129-F for K1 NOA2's. Lets keep positive!!

(L) THANK GOD FOR YOU JULEZABELLE!!! (L) ...I almost had a mini-breakdown when I read the last post...LIKE SLOW-DOWN FURTHER??!! Unless they darn near just stop altogether, It 's hard to imagine it being any slower!!! (no jinx)

I mean no disrespect to Seattle2cebu but my head and heart just dropped after reading your post! I know you were just trying to add insight...which typically I would appreciate. Just having a bad USCIS day...this too shall pass! :D

Gill

Want to be positive but I just don't see the light here.

Our adjudication date is bouncing around between December 24, 25, 26.....CHRISTMAS EVE, CHRISTMAS DAY AND BOXING DAY....HA!.....and it is backed right up to a weekend. Oh how I hope it will be sooner, but if it is not done by Dec 20th then I'm afraid it will be the cold wet kiss of January twodouble0eight on our NOA2's post mark.....and I really don't like that at all.

I've been fretting about this for weeks....but the one thing you can count on here at VJ; you're never alone in your demoralizing little boat.

...sorry about the demoralizing little boat, who ever happens to be in it too....

.....thanks for listening

Here's a question waaaaaaaaay off topic: What do you celebrate on Boxing day? And is it only celebrated in the UK? In the states that's not a holiday so they don't even bother teaching that in school (it's a miracle we know what columbus day or veteran's day is about) Since we have all this waiting to do might as well get culturally enlightened ;)

Thanks!

I can't say that I have confirmed this but I've always been taught, even as a little girl, to never pray for patience. Seems like that's always what I want to do but.... I never, ever pray for patience. I'm scared of what God might throw my way teach me patience. Probably silly, lol but I'm skert and when I'm skert I say I'm skert, lol. I believe I'll pray for God's Will and a speedy NOA2, lol

GeordieLover, I think that if you change the service centre in your timeline to California (where your petition now is) from Texas your projected date might look a little healthier.

Nope. Traditionally it was the day that servants were given their presents (boxes). They would have been far too busy on Christmas Day itself working for their master and mistress that they had to celebrate it the next day. At least that what I was told at an English secondary school.

there are lots of stories surrounding the origins of the term 'Boxing Day', and no one of them has ever come out as the OFFICIAL reason, but I think the most likely one is the servant one, above ;)

and no, it's not only England... we have it in Australia too, same name (and yes, a public holiday)

in Germany the gift-giving is all on the 24th (usually around midnight), and then you have 'Erster Weihnachtstag' and 'Zweiter Weihnachtstag' (first and second days of Christmas) which are both holidays as well, and in my experience involve lots of eating, and then going out for walks :)

I'm sure there are others, too - I'd imagine most of Europe does similar things to Germany

I have no problem praying for patience...

and anyway, tess; what if it's God's will that you learn patience? ;)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

That is what I was told as well...... servants worked on Christmas Day and got their holiday the following day along with their gifts etc. In the UK my impression has been: A paid holiday celebrated at a pub by meeting up with friends and family that you were unable to see over Christmas. It seems it is also celebrated Canada, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa....but I just looked that up.
