WEEEELLLLL! there is a story....I once went out drinking on a friday night in glasgow with 2 friends and we woke up on Saturday in Norway!!!!!

hahahaha. I taking train from glasgow to london. It's quite good, One of the newspapers did a thing here where if you fill in the wee form and book before end feb you get half price travel glasgow to london euston on the sleeper with a private cabin...£45 return.

Was fun ending up in Norway. We'd met some norwegians on their last night in glasgow, went to airport with them and drunkenly decided to just get last minute flights back with them for a saturday night in Oslo before flying back sunday. I was 20 at the time and still took passport out as ID so had it in purse. Only problem was had to buy clothes and essentials there. So a friday night out ended up costing around £300. Expensive but a great story now!!!

I don't know Aly....upping sticks and moving a few thousand miles away to get married and start a new life is quite exciting. Ok highly stressful too but I think we are all embarking on something really exciting! Also it's good proving all those people who say long distance relationships never work wrong.

Definatly alot of UK-ers here. Seem to be a fair number of Nebraskans too. I feel a nebraska meet up in Omaha sometime coming on. I'm actually going to be starting my american life in Grand Island. I'm a country lass, born and brought up in the kind of villages where everyone knows everyone. I lived in Glasgow city for 2 years and hated it. Not a big fan of the city at all so Grand Island kinda suits me. ALOT bigger than I'm used too but still laid back and surrounded by fields. We are considering heading to Lincoln or Omaha in the future though as bigger scope for me running my own business as I have done here in scotland.

I'm really hoping some of us UK-ers get same day interviews! We can go for a wee drink afterwards.

If a meeting ever gets going for Omaha, you can count me in!

I agree! most of us were absolutely crazy to even start a relationship like this let alone go the distance (pun intended !!!! I don't know about all of you but the first time I flew to London on my own to spend time with my SO it was nuts! I had known him like 3 weeks, seen him in person for all of 7 hours, granted many hours of phone calls, but still - proper crazy!!! and there I was flying halfway across the world - alone - on blind faith! so glad I did........although being able to say I woke up once in Norway in my 20's would have been cool too

by the way, by some miracle the cookies shipped - after all that drama! and they may not even be stale yet!!! we'll see if they clear customs (or whatever packages go thru), but the tracking info says they are at stanstead and supposed to be delivered tomorrow. of course now I ruined the surprise with a totally hysterical melt down over fedex, visas, distance, frustration etc. by crying to matt!!!

did I really read someone in July got touched??? was it from a phone call or really a random touch? don't want to read too much, but I am finding myself excited as I watch more and more filers from late june get NOA2.

I agree, the projected date is a bit pessimistic, maybe a worst case not the "earliest" like it says to be. Right now mine says the 25th, but that would be 166 days from filing which is not accurate. Most CSC people are getting approved around 130-150 days from filing, with some exceptions.

Anyways, this place is great and all but I think its making my wait feel longer so I'm going to not check it while I'm on holiday with my fiancee. When I get back on the 18th, there better be some approvals on the July thread!!

Umm approval 130 days from filing would be great, I would take that as a great thing. but i think its more likely around 130 days from Noa-1 date.

as it gets closer to Nov 11th here in UK (uk memorial day) it made me think as you know I'm now getting married on 31st may (US memorial weekend) so after a few discussions it has been decided on our way to reception from ceremony bridal party stopping off at memorial enroute to lay my "throwing" bouquet at memorial. I have lost a friend and have 3 more fighting in this war so its something close to my heart.
