well yesterday someone that filed exactly 30 days before me got approved!

YAI! i saw that one too, and it made me jump!!!!!! wouldn't that be AWESOME???? maybe by then the NVC-problem would be solved, and I might even have my interview in january. the frankfurt embassy seems to be really fast lately.

it makes me daydream!!!!

but then, when reality kicks in, i realize that there is probably some sort of RFE or major disaster waiting for us.

I'll have a quiet weekend with lots of shopping (will be starting a new job tuesday, with business-formal dresscode) and lots of time with friends :).

A GREAT WEEKEND TO EVERYBODY!!!!

That would be cool b/c that's my birthday. :)

But I'll make a slightly different bet that no July filer going through Vermont will get an NOA2 before December. :(

I should amend that. Most of our approvals are still happening to May filers. We may not see any July people till 2008. :ranting:

i think NOV 16th will be the first day a july filer ( someone who sent in july and was received in july) gets approved. thats my guess.

Chris

A case of Guinness says its before the 13th

Haha, i would almost be temped to take that bet. but a few things stop me. one do i win if its after the 13th or my date of the 16th? anything past your date? or just before 13th and then my date.

and then how do we pick the first one. by sent date , received date, NOA1 date etc. someone might send in on june 29th, get received date june 30 and recieved Noa1 in mail july 3rd, their web might say recieved July 1st . etc etc. are they june filer or july. so far alot of the "june filers approved" were sent in the last of May. anyway i hop ewe do get approvals for july filers before the 13th. but i think we have barely scratched the surface of june filers so far.

and would you send money or the ship the case ? lol

but your bet is in good fun. i think i'll just leave my choice as a choice and not bet. too hard to decide a winner.

Chris

i think its not clear enough to state for sure.

I wrote a letter to my angel tonight, as we wait for NOA-2. I think all of us waiting for NOA-2 feel the slow and torturous passage of time as we are (most of us, anyway) apart from those we love. For the most part, I like how this letter came out, so I thought I'd post it here for whatever it is worth. As Spider Robinson (I believe) said, a pain shared is a pain lessened.

I'll Not Count The Days

We have been apart for many months. There's no denying that. But I'll not count the days since last I held you in my arms. Counting the days is like counting the grains of sand on the beach - it has no purpose since the tide will come and rearrange them. And I'll not count the days since last I felt your lips against mine. The days which have passed cannot erase from my memory the soft feel of you against me, my angel. And I'll not count the days since last my face was pressed against your neck, and I could smell your sweet fragrance. When I close my eyes I can still smell your aroma, for the passing of time cannot dull my remembered senses of you.

We will not be together again for some more months, that is also true. But I'll not count the days up until we can yet be together again. Should I add up the kisses we shared together during our all too brief 23 days together? The number of kisses that we shared during that time will always outnumber the days we are apart, no matter how many they may number. Counting the days we are apart is equivalent to torturing myself, and there is nothing torturous about the feel of your love in my heart.

Soon we will know the date of our next meeting. On the day we know this date, we will know precisely how much longer our separation will last. I will have much to do to prepare for your arrival here, and for the arrival of my little angel Vika. There will be so much to do, and all the days we have been apart will then seem too few, and it will be as if I do not have time to make all the preparations I would like. But no matter how many preparations I complete, and no matter how many preparations I do not complete, none of it will matter. Because the day will come when we are at last again together, and whatever tasks lay before us will lay before us both, and we will accomplish them together.

On the day we are again together, I will begin my counting. I will count the seconds that pass in our first minute together, so that I never forget how lucky I am to be with you again. I will count the minutes that we share during our first hour together, so that I do not waste any of this precious time. I will count the hours which see you by my side during our first day together, during all those moments when I pull you close to me and kiss you, just because I can. I will count the days we spend together in Russia during our first week, as we wear our rings for the first time - we will wear them on our right hands while we are in Russia, and then on our left when we are in the USA so that we honor the customs of both our countries. I will count the weeks in the first month we are together here in our home in Omaha, and I know that they will pass so quickly and blissfully for us. I will count the months we spend together during our first year as husband and wife, as we experience all of the mundane things of normal life - going to the store, preparing meals, seeing the children off to school, cleaning up the house. But what I will treasure most of all, I think, is counting the years that pass as we watch the seasons change in our new and shared world. Together always, in love always, we will grow old together. Our hair will grow gray, our eyes may grow dim, and our steps may grow less strong, but always will our love burn youthful and bright because we will be together and we will always have the other to love and to love us in return.

And as I count these seconds, and minutes, and hours, and days, and weeks, and months, and years, with my sweet angel Natasha always near to me, I will treasure my life and thank the God above that he thought me worthy to receive such a wonderful gift as I have in you, Natasha.

So I'll not count the days that we must be apart, and instead I will look to the countless days of our future together, and I will save my counting for them.

I love you, now and always.

Kevin

Jeraly, It looks like you all had a blast! What a stellar idea....a hen party at a gay club..haha!

I got my wedding dress now too...it fits just right for me now, but i'm afraid I'll lose weight as I'm working out alot. It's got a bajillion likkle pleats and pin tucks..a nightmare to tailor. But i'd love to lose the weight! What's a girl to do? I told Peter that if I lost weight I would just buy a new dress...he seemed less than thrilled. I told him to buy a suit too. He got me several metres of gorgeous wool tartan from Scotland. I'm making matching ties for all the boys and accents for my girl's dresses. It's going to be fab!

Come on NOA2's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
