So I don't know if anyone has noticed their dates, but my approval date slid back several dates.

I'm back to November 30th now! ^_^

I had been as high up as December 10th.

Mine hasn't changed - am on Dec 27 still... I started at Nov 25th... *sigh*

We're now contemplating the necessity to postpone the wedding if need be and are trying to find the money to reimburse my entire family for plane tickets etc - I only wish we knew more about the process before they booked everything *sigh*

Don't beat yourself up over this jeraly! You didn't know! And seriously, knowing what I know I would have thought that your Feb. wedding date was entirely achievable based on previous CSC trends. The sad thing is that those are just trends and not guarantees. I seriously never thought we'd be seeing these wait times! *sigh* I hate this!

Glad someone understands that I am not a moron! Very disheartening when you see comments from some people about how people are silly for setting early wedding dates but when we filed we were looking at a 90 day wait... Now we're at that point and the end still isn't in sight *sigh*

Am having to sort out car insurance and tax for my car that is sworn off road but in a way that I don't end up driving my old or new car illegally - it is doing my head in and I am feeling down so forgive my misery!

Some people on here have no tolerance for what other people think or do. These people believe if they think it in their mind, then it must be true. It's your life, you can plan you marriage whenever you want. Good luck.

Haha - yeah but the question is, had we known how bad things were going to be and that the 90 day approval time we were looking at originally was going to end up like this, then would we have booked the wedding?! No matter what date I want, I'm not that stupid - If from the off I had known it would be 140 days+ then I would have held off but as it stands...

Anyway -

Alyson: Heather is saying that the later we leave it to postpone the worse the costs will be and we might end up having to pay the full whack :P

Jeremy: whatever must be will be.

Jeremy: Slap a pricetag on it and I'll pay it. I don't care. You're worth anything :)

So even though things look dim in one sense... My OH knows how to make me smile... thing is I can't copy and paste at the moment so I had to retype that... and I have done so twice - once to my wedding planner, Heather and once here :)

Whatever will be, will be :P

Alyson, thats so sweet. I'm quite lucky, my parents paying a large part of our wedding bill. Me and Nicks mum doing most the organising...he just says tell him what to wear, where to stand and what to say. When I ask his opinion on something he just says yes dear! Sometimes I wish he would put in more opinions but the way he puts it...he cares more about being married, not just getting married.

Jeraly,

I'm still expecting to get approval for the NOA2 in Nov/Dec, and the interview date to be Feb/March.

Charry and I however had not yet set a date, but we are not expecting a large turnout, and those that will be coming are all closeby. Firstly I have never really kept in touch with everyone I have ever known and second, she does not have alot of family in the states. Unless something huge changes we expect to have my family and what little of hers can come plus some of my close friends and some coworkers.

In about 2 years we plan to go back to the Philippines and have another ceremony there for her family over there.

What date did you plan for? If its early Fed you might want to start rescheduling. Late Feb, you might be able to make it.

Charry wanted to do Dec of this year, not a chance but thats what we put on our letters of intent. Granted we also stated, "pending timely completion of this request."

Well, I definitely have my fingers crossed now. I am an active duty military member, and I just found out last week that I am going to be getting an assignment in the very near future. I could be out of here as soon as May. Now, I know that sounds like a long ways off, but it really isn't. Especially since I am going to an overseas location. Anyway, I sent off a request to have our Visa application expedited for military reason. I included ALL of the information that I received regarding my immanent assignment, a copy of my NOA1, letters from myself and my Commanding Officer. Hopefully this will be enough to persuade the Vermont Service Center to expedite our case. If not, I will truly be at a loss, as I really do not believe we will be able to get everything "squared away" before I will have to be at my next duty location. I sent the package off on Tuesday and the Vermont Service Center received it yesterday. Hopefully we will hear something soon. Wish us luck, please. I'll keep you all posted on our results.

That's so sweet, Aly. I say screw what all the naysayers on here say. It's a PIB to have to change all your plans, but do you really need someone on VJ telling you "gee you should have planned things better"? Uh...to them I say "pshaw." (Actually, I say something worse, but that would be a naughty word).

The only reason P and I planned our wedding for next summer is because he's got thesis issues to sort out at the uni and we didn't want anything to screw that up. I really thought I'd have an answer by January, but that isn't likely to happen.

On the good side, my VJ estimated date has moved from Dec 24 to the 21st. Course, I'll be in Germany then for Christmas, but still, it's moved!

Hang in there, girlie.

Maybe some would would say you were a little naive to plan weddings on projected timelines, with the assumtion of no RFE's delays , denials or overcomes, but hindsight is easy. The important thing to focus on is not a ring or a ceremony but that you will eventually be together. IMHO
