We're planning an anniversary party for my parents and I would love for my fiance to attend since I'm the only one out of my siblings with a SO living outside the US. If his tourist visa gets denied, will this negatively effect our K1 application? I don't want to take any risks. TIA!

No, it will not affect the K-1.

When is the party?

I just found out my brother in law's brothers were able to get interviews because of someone they know. I don't know the exact details, but wanted to make sure we're not jeopardizing anything by even applying. The brothers were unfortunately denied though.

Not to sound negative but he most likely will be denied especially since he is already in the K1 process.

Not negative at all, I know it's a long shot that's why I wanted to get people's opinions. I read a few other posts that had conflicting information about whether a pending visa helped or hindered the chances. His ties back to Nigeria are strong, but it's not up to us to decide.

I have never seen a post that said pending immigration was a positive.

In thev"Yes, you can visit!" forum, some people said it helped during the POE because it showed they intended to come to the US the correct way.

Many of those people who visited, my husband included, had already had their tourist visa before applying for the K1 though.

:pop:

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.
