He knew the joint sponsor but she was not a blood relative (she was a friend of my mothers).

Well yes, they may question why an acquaintance would do such a thing.

 

Maybe look for a different joint sponsor, or look for work that has an adequate salary to sponsor an immigrant?

How did you "find out"?  Please provide details.  For Pakistan and some other countries, all males go through additional, extensive security background checks.  Perhaps there's something in that background check that caused the denial. If so, it's still there.

I checked the visa status and got a letter about the denial. But, no reason was given

Letter just stated that visa was denied, petition will be sent back to uscis to expire

Yes, we did the traditional wedding just recently with multiple events (including nikkah of course) and the marriage was registered in nadra

I unfortunately dont have a copy of the letter but i explicitly recall that it did not mention any reason for denial. He also wasn't given 221g form at interview or asked for more info, neither was I

 

the letter mainly said the case is denied and will be sent back to uscis to expire
