I couldn't find a dedicated topic so I am asking my question here, as the Ombudsperson's Office is supposed to work with USCIS service centers and field offices.

I recently had to contact the Ombudsman office after having exhausted other options. From reading various other posts, I understand the process to be roughly as follows:

1) Submit a request for assistance, receive a confirmation and instructions to return a wet signature

2) Approx. within a "couple of weeks" a preliminary review is complete, upon which your request may be denied

3) The request then is waiting for an analyst to be assigned, who usually submits an inquiry with USCIS

4) USCIS is supposed to respond within 30 days

I would like to find out from folks who have gone through this process recently how long step 3 above was for them.

Thanks!
