California Service Center I-130 petitions 2021

Hello everyone! 

 

I filed our I-130 petition in March of 2021. The receipt showed Potomac Service Center but USCIS told me that was just the accepting center and it has been processing with California Service Center the whole time. I have seen quite a few approvals on VJ from the CSC for 2021 filers. 

 

I know every case is different and we are waiting patiently but we are wondering has anyone been approved from CSC that did NOT file for a K3 visa or request an expedite?

Hello N&E!!

We filled the I-130 through a lawyer and the package was mailed on Sep 30,2021. USCIS received on Oct 4,2021(PD) NOA1 Oct 7(Potomac).

My application is also at California service center according with EMMA, 193 days under review. Nothing since 

 A good thing is that California service center processing time dropped from 28,5 to 38,5 to just 6,5 to 8,5 months.

If this is correct my application should be approved in the next 60  days.

If you receipt date is before Aug 23/2021 you should right an inquire about your case being outside normal processing time

I just saw in your time line your case was already approved, congratulations, how is everything going in the second part(NVC)?

I hope is less waiting time than the first part(I 130 )

Hello Edtab! 

 

Thank you for the suggestion 😊 We noticed we were outside normal processing times when it changed to 6.5-8.5 months so we asked our lawyer to send in a case inquiry. We received our approval two weeks later! 

 

Our NOA1 said Potomac as well but it was actually at California the whole time.

It's going good, there is just a lot of information to gather for the DS-260. I recommend getting that information together while you are waiting to save some time:)

 

Also, my husband lived outside his home country for close to a year. We might have to get a police certificate from that country which can take some extra time. 

 

Once the forms and documents are submitted to NVC it's about a three month wait. Much better than a year wait!
