Since you are already in US, why not just file for AOS?

First i make commitment with embassy that i will come back to home country and if i go for AOS it will take 6-8 months for EAD and 12-14 months for GC this is timeline these days. So it doesn't sound good option for me. And i'm the person who can't stay at home waiting for EAD without doing any sort of work.

Then how can you afford to extend an already long stay on a B visa?  You realize you're not allowed to work as a B visitor, right?

I was asking in case of future lockdown since cases are rising in States

There is never going to be a situation where you cannot leave, regardless of COVID cases.

There is no such commitments, it's just a process. Do what you prefer to do just note that:

1. Your embassy interview may or may not happen in 1 year depending upon your DQ date.

2. B2 extensions are taking much longer than the 6 months extension period that you can ask for at the maximum. So very likely it will be denied after 6 months. That will complicate any future visits as a visitor.

3. Lots of cases from Pakistan have been put on AP for months or even years after the visa interview.

If I were you, I'd file for AOS as others suggested.

You're right lot of cases put in AP from Pakistan embassy and I'll have to wait 6-8 more months for interview in Pak but I'm not sure about AOS timelines.

The AP applied to Pakistani cases is not eliminated by AOSing instead.
