Only for hardship which is nearly impossible to prove. (see this link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=316 - that's from the forum on waivers, etc, but I believe you also have to show extreme hardship to expedite a case as well).

You may have seen "Expedited" service available at a higher fee, but that's for work based visas. Some military personnel with orders to deploy can be expedited, but even for them, it's far from a sure thing.

Have you filed yet? Fill out your information so we know where you will be filing, etc. (edit: you're a vermont filer? When did you file? :time: Or did you yet? You're going through what's been traditionally the fastest service center, though it has slowed from its peak speeds. It is still faster than Callifornia, though they will be restructuring things again shortly, so best get in your materials ASAP if you haven't yet.)

What grounds do you think you might have that would qualify your petition to be expedited? There was heated tread concerning petitions of military personnel being expedited just the other day. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...0&hl=deploy

thanks for the responses? i what are the steps for trying to expedite a k1?

You cant pay a fee and have it expedited. Only some work visas allow that.

These are the online reasons a case will be expedited. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0000ecd190aRCRD

Personally, I think it's pretty fair that cases can't be expediated. If you could pay a higher fee to get it done quicker then the vast majority of people in here would have to wait a lot longer than others, which isn't fair. As it stands now, this service attempts to treat everyone as equals, regardless. It should stay that way.

Exactly.

When it's for an employment-related visa, I don't see a problem with just being able to pay to expedite a case - if a company's prepared to shell out more cash to get someone's visa quicker, let them. But for family-based immigration? No way.

And OP... you've already had your question answered, pretty much, in the first two responses!
