Stockholm Sweden

Hi!
My case was DQ at the NVC in April 2021. So I've been waiting 9 months for an interview to be scheduled at the Stockholm embassy for a EB3 visa.

was informed about the webpage below: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html

The webpage shows monthly immigrant visa issuance statistics per country. I've reviewed how many and which immigrant visas that are being processed. The total of EB3 visas issued the year of 2018 in Sweden was 4, from what I could gather. The total of EB3 visas issued the year of 2019 and 2020 was both 3.

However I noticed that they processed and issued a total of 5 Diversity Visas September and August in 2021, whilst only 2 EB3 visas in October of 2021, which was the first time they issued EB3 visas since January 2021. It's weird to me that they prioritise DV visas over EB3... Anyways, my questions are:

1.) Is there someway of knowing wether my case is stuck at the NVC because of their backlog? Or because the lack of capacity at the embassy?
2.) Is there someone who is in my situations waiting EB3 visa interview at the Stockholm embassy? Since two people got their EB3 visas in October 2021 I thought maybe they were on here to answer when their case was DQ at the NVC! :)

*** Moved from NVC forum to Embassy/Consulate Discussion -- OP's case is already DQ, waiting for interview schedule at STK ***

DV and EB3 have different rules.  Unlike EB3, DV processing has a hard deadline for completion every year.  If the DV applicant is not issued a visa by end of September of the lottery year, they will lose their chance at getting a DV, regardless of whether it was the applicant or the consulate who was at fault for the delay in processing.

Alright, well make sense then.. Just annoying that a lottery winner are prioritised a head of EB visas. I've worked like crazy to get the opportunity to immigrate to the US.

I am Danish but live another place. I got DQ in April 2022, but the embassy where I live has a huge backlog so today I was approved to switch to Stockholm. Got a new case number but assume I will keep my DQ date.

I am also EB3 (nurse)

Caju, did you hear anything?

It is realy kind of you!

Not sure "Tidusel94" was offered by which party to move the case to Germany. NVC? Stockholm Embassy?

For him/her, it was during Covid time, so it might be handled differently.

Looks like Stockholm is still issuing EB visas in the past few months (E1, E2 and E3), so I will wait a bit more. Not sure if I should contact the Embassy.

Not a clue I'm afraid, just thought I'd give the link as it appears Tidusel94 hasn't been on the forum for quite some time.

Not sure when you were DQ'ed? But contacting the embassy is unlikely to help if they do have a backlog tbh. Some embassies are super quick (3 months or so from DQ to interview), others are 2 years or more. Might be worth searching timelines to see how Stockholm is at the moment, although bear in mind most cases on VJ are spousal, which will be given priority over EB2.

Good luck.
