NOA1 required for AoS?

Sorry if this has been addressed previously but I'm getting mixed messages from google as you would expect.

Is the NOA1 required to be in the package for Adjustment of Status? I have the NOA2 but cannot find the NOA1 anywhere.

Thanks.

See if this helps. Old but I think still valid.

I-485 (Adjustment of Status)

  • Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)
  • Photocopy of birth certificate of immigrant with translation
  • Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page (immigrant)
  • Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (by USC) with photocopies of supporting documents: This varies by each applicant so here's generic suggestions:
    • Employment letter
    • 3 tax returns including copies of W2s (Photocopy) or IRS tax transcripts (photocopy) Only 1 year is required
    • six recent pay stubs (Photocopy)
  • (If needed) Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (by Co-sponsor) with photocopies of supporting documents:
    • Proof of co-sponsors citizenship/status, ie US birth certificate, bio page of passport, naturalization papers, or LPR status
    • Employment letter
    • 3 tax returns including copies of W2s (Photocopy) or IRS tax transcripts (photocopy) Only 1 year is required
    • six recent pay stubs (Photocopy)
  • Photocopy of I-797 Notice of Action, I-129 Petition Approval (That's your NOA2)
  • Certified copy of Marriage Certificate  (can be photocopy of certified marriage certificate)
  • Copy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record- (print it out at www.CBP.gov/I94)
  • Form I-693 with the immunization section filled out by a US Civil Surgeon, signed and sealed by him. Read the instructions for the form. OR photocopy of DS-3025 from UK medical if all shots were completed and recorded by Visa Medicals in London. One or the other, not both.

I-765 (Employment Authorization)

  • Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)
  • Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page (immigrant)
  • Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record (they say not needed anymore if filing with AOS in C 9 category)

I-131 (Advance Parole travel document)

  • Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)
  • Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page (immigrant)
  • Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record

Add a check for $1225 made out to the US Department of Homeland Security paper-clipped to your cover page. Behind the cover page put a Form G-1145 if you want to be notified that they got your applications. The cover page will look similar to the above list telling what you have included in the envelope.

That's 3 separate applications with supporting evidence all mailed together in one envelope with one check, one cover page, and one G-1145. They will get processed in different places, so that's why the duplication of evidence. You don't have to do all three, but the second two are free if sent with the AOS and will get you authorized to work or travel sooner than waiting for the green card to arrive in most cases.

Hi,

I am going over my I-485 and cannot find my Priority Date from Underlying Petition (Part 2, Section 4)

I am aware this is on the I-797 but on my form the Priority Date is blank? I have a Received Date and Notice Date.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There's no actual priority date for your kind of submission as that applies for cases where the number of visas are limited.

But you can input it if you want as it is equivalent to the received date of the initial petition. Or just leave blank -I think we left that blank-.

Thanks for this info - on question re: I-131. I may need to head back to the UK for various reasons at some point but I do not have specific dates planned (or even estimates) - do I need to hold off on this application until I have definitive dates?

No, just input estimated dates.

When I did this, the form was different and we had empty spaces to put anything we wanted. For dates I put “unknown” and for reason I wrote “in case of family emergency”.  You probably can only enter a date now, so I would make up something and say length is10 days. They don’t hold you to those times.  Also browse the AOS forums to see what current people are putting.
