Awaiting a I-129F response & I-864/1-134 questions

Hi,

I have a few questions I hope someone could help me with - apologies for bombarding you!

My fiance submitted our 1-129F petition to the Nebraska Service Centre (he lives in Missouri) on the 16th of June and to date we have received nothing in the post. We called the USCIS and they gave us our receipt number. So I checked online and it said that they had received this on the 21st June and they had sent us out a "notice describing how we will process your case". We have not yet received anything. Is this letter going to be a receipt or the NOA1? Also online it said our petition was being processed at the California Service centre - why would this be the case? And how would this affect the processing time?

I am also trying to do some prep for the next stage of the process but I am confused by the I-134/1-864 requirements for the K1. The website of the US Embassy in London where I will interview is unclear when these will need to be provided. Is the I-134 needed for the embassy interview & the I-864 at the time I adjust my status? My fiance will be a law student in the Fall so his parents will be the co-sponsor - do they need to fill out both forms?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

DB

K-Visas use I-134 for the Visa interview at the consulate, K-visas are considered to be Non-Immigrant visas and nonimmigrant visas use I-134. Only immigrant visas like CR-1, and IR-1 use I-864 at the consulate because they directly result in a Green-Card.

K-Visa holders use the I-864 when adjusting status in the USA.

I-864 is for green-card, I-134 is for NON-Immigrant visa.

The NOA1 is the receipt notice. It really does not "describing how we will process your case." It says nothing important except petition and beneficiary name, received date, and says something like cases like this are usually processed in 180 days.

Don't take the 180 days to mean anything. Usually will be much quicker.

Awesome - thank you. Do you have any ideas why the petition is being processed in Cali rather than Nebraska?
Over 1 year ago USCIS realigned processes, and all petitions sent to NSC, and TSC were forwarded to CSC, this is normal.

Thank you so much.

Silly question but can you tell me what is means to be "touched"? Is this a call or letter? If so what does it say?
