CEAC Refused or AP? K1

Hello,

We had our interview Dec 9. Interview was straight forward, positive and was told that I'm approved pending medical and original divorce decree ppwk (not a copy). All documents were sent and confirmed receipt (past security) before December 20th. CEAC showing case last updated the 22nd and 29th Dec. They kept the passport. No activity in CEAC since and says Refused. When should we start worrying?

Is it wrong to assume that I'm in administrative processing when it actually says refused on CEAC? Are we now refused and need to do something? They haven't emailed us...

Does our case start to be reviewed when the status changes to administrative processing?

travel.state.gov says administrative processing can take several months or at the least 180 days, do we now have to schedule another medical and retrieve more police certificates? Will the application expire in administrative processing and we have to start over?

the search feature is your friend, this is very normal

Thanks. I found some from 2018, 2011 and one from 2021 but it was not very informative. I will search again. Maybe I missed something.

It changes to refused while it's in AP, during this time they run extra checks, usually it's not so long, especially for your country, but depending on the case sometimes it takes longer.

everything you described sounded very positive, you'll just have to wait it out unfortunately.

It looks like in the search feature, there are many who have administrative p in their CEAC but mine doesnt say that...

Hi @yvonme – in a very similar situation. Interview in Melbourne on Dec 6th, had to re-upload a couple of documents. Documents were confirmed received on 16th and now in AP. Haven't heard anything besides the usual "15 business days but COVID may delay further"

Have you had any updates?

None at all. I asked them a couple days ago for a status update and they now say visa issuance can take up to 30 days now. My documents were received before January 3.

Hi! Yep, same. I just noticed the automatic email response has adjusted all instances of 15 Business Days to 30 Business Days – fingers crossed we hear something soon!

30...days? ☹ Oh well, guess I'll be staying in Melbourne even longer then. 🙄
