Has anyone started the CR1 process recently with a Floridian spouse? (And you are Canadian). Curious how long your wait is/was so far? I know wait times differ based on service center, etc and are different from everyone and many factors come into play 🙂 We are getting married in a few days, so just curious.
Thanks in advance!

Are you mentioning Florida because of which service center it’ll be assigned to? If so, it’s not based on where your spouse lives. USCIS has its own policy on how it distributes cases based on the workload.

The biggest factor in how long you’ll wait is consulate backlog and how fast/slow interview is assigned after you are documentary qualified at NVC stage. Canada is one of the most backed up so it’s gonna be a wait to get an interview.

They're making headway at the Montreal consulate.  Still slow, but about 3-4mo to interview.

@canadiangirl145 once you get married and if you're doing consular processing through Montreal, fill out your timeline and request to be added to the spreadsheet linked in my signature.  You can check out this very active thread about Canadian spouses undergoing consular processing in Montreal.  Please make sure to read the FAQ's and read back a few pages in the thread.  It moves fast, but we've been at it since 2019, so plenty of knowledge to share about Montreal.
