Is it safe to travel with an Advance Parole in 2022?

Hi, 

 

My husband got his EAD + AP (combo card) and he is planning to travel to his home country for a doctor’s appointment in the meantime the GC application is pending.

 

We were wondering how safe it is to travel with the Advance Parole and what kind of question they will ask him when we arrive back to the US.

 

I am planning to go with him and come back to the States together, in that way he won’t be by himself in front of the immigration officer.

Certainly when I entered with AP the USC was not allowed to accompany

Just as safe as if he had a Green Card, imo.   That is the purpose of Advance Parole.  Will he be sent to secondary inspection?  Very possibly......but some LPRs go to secondary, too.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
