My wife just got scheduled for her N-400(3 year rule) yesterday. Her I-751 says “case was transferred and a new office has jurisdiction.” The transfer happened 11 days ago. Will her I-751 change status if it’s a joint interview? Or should I assume it might be a joint interview and I(citizen) should go with her on the N-400 interview. Sorry if my wording is confusing, and let me know if I’m missing some info that is needed. Thanks in advance!

I would go with her.  The joint I-751 MUST be approved before the N-400 can be adjudicated.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Ok thanks. I probably will go just in case it’s a joint interview. I was only worried in case it was only the n-400 interview(because I’m not sure if I’m allowed in if it’s just n-400). I’ve also read some cases that had the n-400 first and I-751 later. And the n-400 would be approved but pending until after the I-751 was approved and done with.

In our case, my wife was called for her N400 interview with the I751 pending, so I went with her, and the IO did in fact call me back for a brief I751 interview prior to my wife's N400 interview.  That was pre-covid, so of course I could go inside.  In your case, I would go with her and worst case, you wait in the car and are available if the IO decides to do an I751 interview.  It is the case that the I751 has to be finalized first before the N400 can be finalized, so hopefully the I751 made it to the local office to be combined.  Lastly, in response to you original question starting this thread, there is no real way to know if the IO will conduct an I751 interview.

Good Luck!

Thank you for you suggestion. I will be going with her and wait in the car if anything.
