Tax returns are not IRS certified

The tax returns (3 yrs) that we are sending are not IRS certified.

Its a copy of what we prepared and sent to them.

Also sending W2s for 3 yrs and 1099 fr one of the years as applicable.

So is this ok?

How do you get the returns IRS certified.

Our transcripts are still awaited and will take sometime coz we filed fr a couple years together and its still at the processing.

I sent the W2 and just the copy of tax returns without any certifying. I think it's fine, I have my interview next week.

I assume you're submitting either the I 864 (or I 864 EZ)? If you read the instructions, it tells you that copies you have printed are acceptable if the corresponding W2s and/or 1099s are included.

I sent off for transcripts (which are the ones the IRS would send - I don't believe the term is 'certified') about 2 months ago - still don't have them. So enter plan B (copy of return and W2s).

USCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.

The Key with submitting 1040 is to also attach W2, and 1099, the W2/1099s prove the numbers on the 1040, anyone can just make up a fake 1040.

Transcripts are not required if you have a copy of the submitted 1040 along with copies of submitted W-2s, 1099s etc.

I personally just printed off the PDF I got from efiling. No issues!
