Hi guys I filling n400 online I have a question regarding tax return, when I log to the IRS website they offer only Return Transcript is this what they are asking for ?? I m applying under 3 years rule

Tax documents - 3 years

Tax returns are not required for every application, but we encourage you to provide them, especially if you are applying based on marriage to a U.S. citizen or have traveled outside of the United States for 6 months or more.

Upload evidence that you have paid your income taxes to the IRS for the past 3 years. You can request copies of your tax documents from the IRS at irs.gov. Some examples include:

  • Copies of your income tax returns for the past 3 years
  • An IRS tax transcript listing tax information for the past 3 years

If you have any federal, state, or local taxes that are overdue, include:

  • A signed agreement from the IRS, state, or local tax office showing you have filed a tax return and arranged to pay the taxes you owe
  • Documentation from the IRS, state, or local tax office showing the current status of your repayment program

Hey! Does it have to be IRS transcript from the IRS website? I'm having trouble getting them, but I have tax return from accountant from past 3 years and the W2s. Would the individual tax return from accountant be okay?

I see online:

" If you cannot get an IRS transcript, please send a photocopy of your federal individual income tax return. If you provide a photocopy, you must include a copy of every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your return(s)."

Is the tax transcript a prior-year tax return the same?

Tax transcript is issued by the IRS after your tax return has been filed and processed. Tax return refers to the forms you filled out and submitted when you filed

Same info but very different format

On the guide it say Tax return or Transcript. I already put in the  birth certificates of children and bank statement. Do I need to put Tax return too?

And IRS website is asking for Customer File Number  when trying to get a Transcript.

4. Documents referring to you and your spouse:

to_post_off.gif Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children, or
to_post_off.gif Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past three years, or
to_post_off.gif

An IRS tax return transcript for the last three years.

You can order tax transcripts over the phone to be mailed to you ..

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

tax transcripts must be uploaded onto your N400 application.. as well as all and any other applicable evidence as per the website instructions.
