I said 20 or 21. I think it was issued before he was 21. I know I had some concerns about aging out and contacted Kiev. It has been 11 years so I don't remember the specifics but they said don't worry and it was fine. It is the son of my ex-wife so I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it)

I’m sure his was issued before 21.  
 

If  he was 21 when he entered the USA that would be an interesting data point that counters point number 2 of @Crazy Cat’s comment.  
 

Everything I’ve read says that K-2s can adjust status of age 21 (something USCIS fought against for years and the courts have settled it) but the 90 day period after entry is a hard deadline, unlike K-1s.
