Been 2 months and still has not received green card in mail

Hello VJ members,

It's been 2 months now and my wife still hasn't received her green card in mail. Her Port of Entry was on Nov 8, 2021. She did get her social security card in Mail within a week. I did move while her green card was in process and did update mailing address on USCIS website. At POE, Office did updated new mailing address.

Is there any place that I could track her green card whereabouts? I'm bit concerned because her visa will expire on April.

The endorsement stamp she received in her passport at POE is a full-fledged Green Card for a year (November 2022) or until the plastic one arrives. The expiration date on her CR-/IR-1 visa is irrelevant.

You check status the same place you checked for I-130. Login to the account on this page so you can see history. Hope they didn't mail to wrong address.

And Visa voided when she entered the US. And it can take 120 days or more to get  green card. But check your status.

Ours took over 180 days to arrive.  The temporary I-551 in her passport is valid for 1 year from it's validation date, so as Crazy Cat stated, it's valid until Nov. 2022.  If you're really concerned, you can submit an inquiry through myUSCIS after 90 days, but it isn't likely to help.

I do not see I-551 stamp on her passport. There's a stamp on her VISA page but you can't read any numbers/letter in the stamp. Could I make info pass appointment and they will do something about it? I'm more concerned about her work since they are asking to provide updated I-9 verification by March 1, 2022. Please advise.

That is the CR-1 visa endorsement stamp which serves as her green card until the plastic one arrives ( or one year).

Might need to send some official paperwork to the employer to explain the situation. When I got here, I also started work before I had my green card in hand and oh wow, it took a lot of explaining and repeating it over and over again before they understood that the stamp works as green card for a year.

Read the instructions for the I-9.  It clearly states that the foreign passport with temporary I-551 stamped MRIV is perfectly acceptable.  You've also stated that your partner has received a SSN, so she's covered - employment eligibility criteria covered with the MRIV I-551 and IRS tax reporting with the SSN.

If HR are giving her a hard time, print the I-9 instructions and show them.  A common experience seems to be that HR personnel aren't often trained properly on how to handle immigrant and visa cases.  Personally, I don't understand what's so difficult about the instructions that go with the I-9, but I am guessing many HR personnel have never taken the time to actually LOOK at them.

My wife and stepdaughter arrived about 2 weeks before yours and they still haven't received their green cards.  I know of one other member here who arrived within a few days of that timeframe and haven't received a green card yet too.  So it seems probable they are all experiencing similar wait times.  My wife and stepdaughter got their SS Cards in a week and my wife has been working for a month and a half already on her endorsed visa and got her CA drivers license so it's a non-issue.  It says "within 90 days" on the status check so we will call in a few weeks if they still haven't come but we are not worried and it seems 120 days or more is not unheard of.  But yea,,,, it would be nice to actually have the shiny new cards we worked so hard to get😁  Also we travel a few places around here where it is normal to encounter a Border Patrol checkpoint from time to time and while it's not a problem,  it's annoying they always have to carry their passports.

Since our timeframes are similar and we are in the same boat, I'll update whenever we receive or find out anything.

Also, just to verify, you did pay the immigrant fee, right?
