Still remember going to the store for the first time when I was 13 and amazed by all the lights and signage.. I think I bought something at the store.. was it shoes? Can't recall.. 17 years ago wowzers!

I didn't realize that Honest Ed Mirvish was orginally from Virginia! Came to Canada as a young man.

I was always amazed at how he basically became the man of Toronto, not only with his store, but with the theatre as well. My favourite thing every year was to see on the news of the annual free turkeys he would give out at Christmas time.

He will be missed!
