Hey everyone,

I have applied and currently waiting on my SSN. My fiance and I have applied for our marriage license and going to be married in a month approx.

What are the next steps for us once married? Is it to apply for AOS and EAD or can these be done prior to being married?

Only after marrying and getting marriage certificate. Some offices takes weeks to issue marriage certificate while some provide it the same day.

Sounds like you are at step 17:

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

So I applied for my SSN on the 23rd of Dec, 7 days after arriving into the US. Unfortunately I have not received it yet. I rang the office that I applied at and they told me it is still processing and to wait 30 days after applying for an update. Myself and my Fiance are getting married on the 18th of Jan and I am currently in the middle of filling out the I-485. For part 1, that askes if I have a social security card I selected no. Should I wait to receive my SSC before applying for the I-485?

One more question, I was previously denied ESTA, do I select 'yes' for the question asking if I have ever being denied a US visa in part 8?

Thanks

A SSN is not required to file the I-485.

I know, I am just wondering which option is better to select?

1) Where do you find the ' Non-Immigrant visa number for this passport (if any)' ?

2) What is my A-number?

3) If I was denied ESTA, should I answer 'Yes' to the question that asks if I have ever been denied a US visa?

Look into your US visa, the RED eight digits number on the lower right area.

You may or may not have. If you have it would be on the visa under "Registration Number"

I'd say say YES and provide explanation that it was ESTA.

Hi there did they not make you wait 2 weeks after arriving in the country to get an appt at the SSA office? Do they ask you when you get there if you have travelled within the last 2 weeks? Thanks for any info!

Hi, nope when I made the appointment they never asked and when I arrived to the office they asked if I had travelled abroad in last 2 weeks and I said I had just arrived from Ireland. This was to the security man and he said I couldn't attend my appointment. I said I had to be tested and am fully vaccinated. He was super nice and  asked the lady conducting my interview If she would be okay with me there. I think they were relaxed as office was quiet and not in a big city. If I had thought about it I would of said no to being abroad but it worked out for me anyways.

That is very good to hear and I’m glad it worked out for you. May I ask what city this was in?
