I will tell you when it is all said and done, you will look back on it and say it was difficult; but really forget how difficult it was. It's been a little over a year for me and the memories of the endless waiting and all the frustrations seem so far away now. Like I said, hang in there.

I sent a certified $70 bank check via overnight mail. I know they got it, but its a miaracle how long it takes them to respond to the Choice of agent and address email.... :crying:

Thank you so much. How long did the whole NVC process take for you?
Visas are delivered via delivery service in about 4-6 business days.

I do not know about the rest.

Thanks.I really appreciate your response. I will keep my fingers crossed for you to get your interview soon. :innocent::innocent:

The NVC will prolly finish procesing the info in a month or less. They've been finished processing my info from January and the embassy still hasn't set a date for my husbands interview. But others whose info was completed by NVC after mine have already had their interview and gotten their visa. I think I'm the odd ball most people seem to get their interviews 2 - 3 months or less from the date NVC finish the paperwork.

HTH

We filed a K-1. The NVC took 19 days for us. Our whole process was just 134 days from filing to visa interview and approval. It would appear we went through extremely fast.

Thanks for the James short cuts info....

Now I have a new issue :( . My husband sent his DS3032 email last week monday to choose me as his agent and address. However, so far even though we got the auto response saying that they received the email, NVC is saying they have nothing on their system showing that they received a DS3032. Each time I call they are saying it takes 5-10 business days. ...Is there anyone on VJ who is having a similar issue as I am? If so, how long did it take for them to update your DS3032 on the system? :crying: Also, how long did it take for them to update that they received your $70 fee and mail you the actual affidavit of support packet?

You can read on the "James Shortcuts" thru the following link.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=117

You can also find them under the National Visa Center forum at the Pinned topic up top. It reads "Time Savers for NVC, plus Knowing your Case #".

Yah, we were approved and had a letter in the mail, the entire time they were telling me they had nothing in their system.

It really helps to know that others can realte. I ahve gotten more answers on this site than any other site since I started this filing process....Its just hard to base any plans off of not knowing what to expect from the NVC and when.

What stage are you in the process now?

The NVC works on a 30 day or less system. If you send them something it will be processed within the month and the next item will be sent out. They will tell you 6-8 weeks for processing but all my docs were completed in a month or less. Hope that helps

Thats a very long time to wait.

The NVC will prolly finish procesing the info in a month or less. They've been finished processing my info from January and the embassy still hasn't set a date for my husbands interview. But others whose info was completed by NVC after mine have already had their interview and gotten their visa. HTH

Not sure about your case but NVC are now scheduling the interview for Kingston.

How do I access "James' Shortcuts"? I have been reading a lot about this but has not seen the link nor the shortcuts themselves. Can one you wise ones direct me to them? :help:

I will tell you when it is all said and done, you will look back on it and say it was difficult; but really forget how difficult it was. It's been a little over a year for me and the memories of the endless waiting and all the frustrations seem so far away now. Like I said, hang in there.

Ours was a K-1, Milan....a fiance visa. There are differences......One of them being that the affidavit of support goes to the interview with them, not before.

But, yah, I do have my timeline set up too.

Yah, we were approved and had a letter in the mail, the entire time they were telling me they had nothing in their system.

The K1 petitions don't sit at the NVC so they will not update their IVR system w/those cases.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
