Tam...What does RFE mean on your timeline?

Trying to use your timeline to estimate my whole thing! :whistle:

Request for Evidence...I am going to change it to read received checklist letter. You shouldn't have to worry about that. I got that letter when they changed the system and wanted our marriage certificate and his birth and police certificate. Now that they have that in place, that is one step you shouldn't have to go through. :thumbs:

A pipe dream, I suppose. We all know there is nothing logical about that place.

That is why they need to hire one of us to work at the embassy. We could snap that place into shape in just a few weeks time.

Hi Ladies,

Well I finally spoke to my daughter last night and she is doing fine. She was real scared but it ok now. There wasn't any damage but a lot of water entered the house. I can't wait until she's back on Sunday.

Good to know the Embassy will be open on the 27th. My sister-in-law had an interview for a visitor's visa on that day and was worried she would have been rescheduled. She lives in Cuba so that would have been hard for her to do.

Nyseness, I am sooo glad you heard from your daughter and that everything is okay!

I heard from Marlon today too. He texted me and I called him. He said Clarendon was hit hard and it's a real mess. It will take a couple of weeks at least to clear the roads and have the towers repaired. There is no signal for Digicel in Clarendon, he was up on a hill aways away. Hopefully he will get that visa so he can come here!

Got 1st NOA I-130 with receipt date of 9/10/2006.

Registered on line at USCIS.GOV for case status updates

Got an email from USCIS stating that on 6/13/2007 my I-130 was approved and that an approval notice was sent to me in the mail. On 6/19/2007 the NVC received my case

7/7/2007 Received AOS fee bill and Choice of Agent Form

7/9/2007 overnighted $70 fee check to NVC and hubby sent Agent/address email to NVC

7/23/2007 AOS packet and DS230 fee bill generated

8/6/2007 RECEIVED AOS packet 8/7/07 Overnighted AOS packet with supporting docs to NVC..8/10 Received Visa Fee bill 8/13/2007 overnighted $380 certified check to NVC

8/21 AOS reviewed and processed. Fee bill received and processed!

8/24/2007 Got letter from NVC stating they are missing DS-230 and instructions to download DS-230 /and mail to NVC.8/27/2007 mailed overnight to NVC with all docs.

No she goes to JA all the time just not by herself. She used to live there w/my grandparents in St. James so I could finish college. She never experienced a hurricane so it was hard for her.

Oh Ok...Poor baby! You will have her here in no time... :dance: I am from St.Catherine and I have never experienced a hurricane (That I can remember at such a young age)...I left Jamaica in November 1987 at age 9 and then hurricane Gilbert came 1988...So thank God I missed that one. I just hope my Hubby will be here before God forbid another hurricane hits. :blush:

The hurricane thing nuh easy. I have been through Gilbert and Wilma (when it came to Florida). Plus all the other brushes with hurricanes here in Florida, I can't wait to leave. The one thing I can say for Gilbert is it brought us closer to our neighbors. We had a lot of time to sit and talk with the month long darkness :)

Wow...I cant even imagine...Right now the area I am from has no electricity and its terrible...Everyone is using candles and Lamps. It does bring neighbors together....Thats one thing...In tragedy We always try and stick together and help out where we can...I love that about Jamaica! :dance:

the hubby just called to say he's doing the medical in the morning

he actually took some initiative and went down to Dr. Banbury and he told him to go to Andrews because he had no light. When he went to andrews they were full and told him to come back 9 am tomorrow

so seems like we're relatively on track

No doubt, so do I. I think that's what I miss a lot with Jamaica, the sense of community. I think that's why a lot of us keep coming back to VJ because of the sense of community on here :thumbs:

I sent the letter to hubby today via email because I just did not know when he would get it in the mail. Thankfully he got it and pinted it, so he can schedule the appointment.

03/02/2011 - Oath Ceremony @ 1:30p (IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!)

03/09/2011 - Oath Ceremony @ 1:30p...FINALLY A CITIZEN!!!
