I can't get ahold of Marlon or his sister! :crying: His phone goes straight to voice mail and hers tells me she can't be reached at this time. I guess I will go with the old adage of no news is good news? :unsure:

Yeah, that's what I am thinking. I am trying to read the news story on Gleaner that says JPS and NWC will be assessing the damage with the hope to restore services soon. I'm sure he's okay Sarah

Hang in there..I am sure its just that maybe some power lines are down and some signals are failing...As well as maybe they just turned off their phones to charge the battery....Jamaica wasnt hit as hard as we all thought it would be...The news made it apapear worst than it actually was!

Got 1st NOA I-130 with receipt date of 9/10/2006.

Registered on line at USCIS.GOV for case status updates

Got an email from USCIS stating that on 6/13/2007 my I-130 was approved and that an approval notice was sent to me in the mail. On 6/19/2007 the NVC received my case

7/7/2007 Received AOS fee bill and Choice of Agent Form

7/9/2007 overnighted $70 fee check to NVC and hubby sent Agent/address email to NVC

7/23/2007 AOS packet and DS230 fee bill generated

8/6/2007 RECEIVED AOS packet 8/7/07 Overnighted AOS packet with supporting docs to NVC..8/10 Received Visa Fee bill 8/13/2007 overnighted $380 certified check to NVC

8/21 AOS reviewed and processed. Fee bill received and processed!

8/24/2007 Got letter from NVC stating they are missing DS-230 and instructions to download DS-230 /and mail to NVC.8/27/2007 mailed overnight to NVC with all docs.

9/12/2207 CASE COMPLETED...

:crying: Oh guys it's so hard. I can't reach my hubby (and daughter) myself. I've been calling since yesterday and still nothing. I even tried calling my Grandmother and some cousins, but it's all the same thing. I cried myself to sleep last night b/c I can only imagine how my daughter must be feeling. We live in Chicago and she has no idea what a hurricane is all about. I cld Javon's sister in Kingston and was able to get thru but the phone lines are still down in Mandeville. I can barely work!!

Oh Anna, this is double hard for you. I hope you hear from Javon and your daughter pretty soon. Oh honey, I am praying with you. There are a number of places with phone lines down.

Just got word about my grandparents, they are fine. Their phone line went down, but a neighbour told my dad that he went by and checked on them and they are doing ok. He's going to tell them to come down to his shop and call my dad from there.

Hopefully Javon is able to find a neighbour with a working phone and give you a call.

hnag in there...I am sure ts only the power lines....Many people are having the same issue. I am sure your Hubby and Daughter are safe and sound...They may even be trying to get to you and cant because circits are busy....Hang in there NYSENESS....I am sure your hubby took all necessary precautions to keep him self and your daughter safe and sound. So many power lines are down and so many are calling that the circuits cant manage it all...Keep calling! I am keeping positive thoughts for you! :innocent:

Try calling your husband in the wee hours of the night. I called at 12:42 AM EST, and got through on my husband's Cable & Wireless cell phone. Unfortunately, Digicel was down. However, it is up and running today. Despite the media coverage, the hurricane was not as bad as the forecast. My relatives in Port Antonio and Montego Bay are without power. Things could have been a lot worse. You will hear from your family soon.

Congrats on the interview letter JA Tam! :thumbs::dance::thumbs::dance:

I spoke to Marlon's dad today. He said he talked to Marlon yesterday during the hurricane, he was okay. His dad also got ahold of Marlon's sister and she, his mother, and nephew are fine. Clarendon was hit hard and the roads are a mess. I guess I will have to wait for Marlon to call me when he has a chance!

Oh good. I am so happy that you spoke to Marlon's dad. At least you can rest assured that he is safe, but I know you will feel even better when you finally heard his voice :yes:
