Tam, will you be going to the interview with your husband? I keep saying I am going to go with my husband, but I dont know how soon he will get his Visa after the interview, so I was planning on going to get him and take him back home with me as soon as he has the Visa in hand. :innocent:

Hey Milan, I am just happy that we have finally had the first batch go through this new process so that you and Anna know what to expect in the coming months.

Yes, I plan to go to the interview; I already sent in my time off request for that day :D . I also plan on going back to travel up with him when he is ready to move here (and I am telling him no later than October 13th; school starts Oct. 20th). The tickets from Florida are pretty reasonable, so I know it is worth spending the money because I won't be traveling as often for the next few years.

I-130 for husband - see TIMELINE

10/23/2007 - Receive SSC (took 9 days from POE)

12/04/2007 - Receive Welcome Letter

12/14/2007 - Received 2nd Welcome Letter and Green card!!!

Oh yeah, they'll allow you to be there. It's not mandatory for us to go, but they'll let you in since your name is on the letter as the applicant. Air Jamaica usually has specials, so if I get any information, I will pass it on. They are running a special now, but you have to pay for the ticket by Aug 23rd. I'll keep you posted if I see anything for NY/NJ.

Milan I know what you mean about the tickets Milan. I bought my daughter ticket last month for $413 AND she is a minor. She's coming back on the 26th and I miss her so much!!! I'm saving all my vacation time to go down for 2 wks, hopefully for the interview and to travel back w/him. Hopefully w/NVC making the appointments the visa won't take that long to get processed. It didn't in the past but lately it just seems like JA is having some major issues.

Milan, don't worry. There was one point in time I was close to tears when I couldn't get through to Aaron, but thankfully he and my dad are okay. Right now I will say I am close to tears as we haven't heard from my grandparents who are on the NW end of the island, an hour outside of Montego Bay. I am sure they are ok, but the worry about them is pretty great. I spoke to them yesterday before the storm, but they are not answering their phone this morning. :crying::crying:

If my dad doesn't hear from them by 2pm, he plans on driving down to make sure they're okay. Please keep them in your prayers. I am happy to know your hubby and family are doing well.

Yeah, my hubby is thinking that they're phone line may be down. I am going to see if Daddy has any contact number for people who live close to them to see if they can see if they are okay. He'll probably go down there with my uncle.

Well the worst has passed and we are a resilient people, so I am sure we're going to hear that Jamica it's okay. I have heard a few roads are impassable, with downed trees and poles. I am sure that much of it will be cleared by later this week and things will go on. I am going send things down with the relief efforts that have been set up in Fort Lauderdale to send needed items home.

I can't get ahold of Marlon or his sister! :crying: His phone goes straight to voice mail and hers tells me she can't be reached at this time. I guess I will go with the old adage of no news is good news?

Power is out all over, Sarah. Maybe he turned it off to conserve battery.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
