We totally forgot to file for a SSN while the I-94 was still valid, but we checked the boxes on the AOS forms to have a SSN assigned. Anyone happen to know about how long it takes to get it? I'm trying to file my taxes now and it won't let me without my spouse's SSN 😅

To be frank with you, I would not look for it any time soon. Your best chance was before your I94 expired. You can try to go to your nearest  SSA local office appointment of course and apply,  but don't  hold  your breath there either. I'm  very sorry.  On the bright side stranger things have happened.

Still early yet 5 days is not unreasonable, it'll be there shortly!
