hi everyone,

my husband entered the us on a k-1 visa, and we sent the AOS package the first week of November. We just got a biometrics appointment date for next month (which was fast) but it’s for a USCIS location in OHIO. We sent our paperwork to the Chicago office and live in Indiana, so not sure why they didn’t just schedule him here in Indiana.

we can make the trip ofcourse but just wanted to ask if this is normal? and is there a chance we’ll go to the appointment and they’ll tell us no since it’s the wrong state?

So I called and was able to get someone pretty quickly using "Infopass," and the agent said that Indiana is taking 6 months for a biometrics appointment whereas Ohio is roughly 2-3, so he was transferred there for a quicker appointment. We didn't request an expedite but I guess its a good thing they're speeding us up.

Yay! I’m in Ohio and about to file for removal of conditions. Good to know they’re quick

Ohio used to be real quick. back in 2017 or 2018 you could go from arriving on a K1 to green card in hand in 3-4 months( Before EAD even got processed). It slowed down now obviously, but is still faster than most states. Detroit,MI usually has a fast process also.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

So does Pittsburgh. I adjusted from F1 in Wv, and the office was Pittsburgh. Was done with the whole process in 6 months
