I have never heard of the AOS interview being waved.  They sent you a card by mistake.  They are requiring you to attend an interview because everyone is required to attend the interview.

I have only seen the removal of conditions (ROC) interview being waved for those who adjusted status.  This is because USCIS has interviewed the person at least once.

Your statement is not only false but misleading. As I pointed out during the early days of the pandemic they were handing out GCs without an interview I am one of the recipients of that, as were several couples here on VJ. Even if there were no pandemic an AOS interview can be waived, it all depends on the IO. There are people right here on VJ who had neither an AOS or a ROC interview both!!! The bottom line for the OP it is better to be inconvenienced than to have a NO SHOW recorded against you GO TO THE INTERVIEW!!!

As you pointed out, it seems some did get their AOS approved without an interview in mid 2020.  I stated I have not seen or read of it, but I stand corrected on this statement.

Per the USCIS policy manual on the AOS waivers, interviews for the applicant cannot be waived for military spouses:

Quote

2. Military Personnel Petitioners

USCIS may waive the personal appearance of the military spouse petitioner; however, the adjustment applicant must appear for an interview. USCIS makes every effort to reschedule these cases so that both the petitioner and adjustment applicant can attend the interview before deployment. The adjustment applicant may choose to proceed while the petitioner is abroad.

Who's talking about Military? That was not the question the OP had! There was nothing about the OP being in the military so that is a whole other category that requires a different answer!

Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate tracing back the posts and I hope it will go in a similar way. How did you get in touch with a tier 2? How long did it take?

also, it’s not because I’m a mil spouse but because I have the GC in hand that I’m worried.

The customer service told the that this happen also when they need an update on the file, like seeing new documents or something alike.

I had a baby in the meantime. I mean… we definitely have a bona fide relationship and if that it’s wait this boils down to, I think it will be fine. We just miss a shared bank account, but we have a lot of proof - baby included.

I’m sorry, I’m post partum and alone as my husband is deployed. They issued the card after approving an expedite.

The military service is clueless. And I’m here mostly by myself.

if the issue is just the interview it’s fine, in the end our marriage is bona fide and we merged our life, besides our little one.

OP is the spouse of a deployed military personnel.

It was useless calling USCIS If I remember I called and they had no idea, so I attended the interview or tried.too. That was the best move for me to not get a no show GC in hand or not!

Uscis has discretion on waiving the interview, also they can wave it for parents of USC.
Anyway if the mistake is the GC or the interview I’ll see it soon.

I was more worried about an intention to revoke or something similar.

I will definitely go to the interview if nothing change and I’m not advised of the opposite.

I tried to put a request for a tier2 but my hope are not really high.

revoke means u got it but they take it back.  in your case, they gave the greencard by mistake

dont worry too much. its their mistake not urs

good luck with your interview

It used to be that almost all AOS cases were approved without an interview. That got flipped a few years ago. I think they just felt sorry for Sarge for the he** they put him through and approved AOS without an interview) To the OP. You will be fine. Someone checked the wrong box when they were reviewing your case. As someone mentioned earlier it appears to be just an administrative problem. Easily fixed at the interview. Take care and good luck!

Finally done...
