It's a generic reminder for all immigrant visa holders who may be waiting for their plastic GC but haven't actually paid the immigrant fee.  It happens -- we get questions here on VJ about why the GC hasn't arrived yet, then find out later that the poster didn't even know about the immigrant fee 🤦‍♀️

 

In your son's case, it's safe to ignore that reminder, or any other reminder about paying the immigrant fee as a green card is not necessary for him.

It would not.  Having to use the grandparents' status to acquire US citizenship means that the child was not a US citizen at birth -- which he would have been if his mother was able to transmit US cit

Yes the stamped visa happens on entry. At POE .. When asked to confirm the address for the GC  to be sent, you do not  need to explain why there will be no GC.. just confirm the address    T
