hey guys.

I need to apply green card for my son who is currently living overseas, and some articles say that Citizen's unmarried young child will get citizenship automatically when they enter the US.

I want to know after my child land in the US. how soon can he apply for an US passport?

He can apply for a US passport immediately after entering the US on his immigrant visa and becomes an LPR.

Upon endorsement by CBP, his visa becomes a temporary green card for 1 year (I-551).  You can use that to apply for his US passport and there is no need to pay the $220 immigrant fee for a plastic green card.

Wait a week or two after your son enters the US so that he is entered into the computer system.  Don't rush to file the same day that he flies into the US.
