Hey guys.

Quick question here. I am an US citizen, but my mother is not. She used to visit the US by B1 visa when I was an international student, but the visa expired already.

My question is that if she wants to visit me in the future. Can she still apply for B1 visa? Is it easy to get approved? (No intention to apply for Green Card at this moment)

of course she can always apply for tourist visa

is it easy to get approved = depend on the embassy / consulate

usually if they already had one, its not that hard

the issue probably to get appointment for interview at the moment

u can check, in certain countries, u can renew ur expired passport without interview up to 24 months

She may apply for a B2 visa to visit you.  B1 is for business-related travel, though her previous visa may have actually been a B1 or a combined B1/B2 visa.  Even so, if her purpose for travel is purely for tourism/leisure, she should indicate that she is applying for a B2 visa on her DS-160 form.

When did your mother's visa expire and what country is she from? As @Misscloud mentions she might be able to renew her visa without interview if she qualifies.
