It is up to the location of your employer (petitioner). You are not able to select the service center.

can someone confirm that the DoS website did not update the status for today 8/24/2022? I see the update date as august 23 and I don’t believe this has ever happened before. They always have an up to date status. Anybody else seeing this?

Yes, we need to get out of country to get a new O-1 stamping. There is so much wait and delay with USCIS that we can't do it while in the US. Thanks

I guess it can always be more wait. This case has been waiting since August 29 2021... 52 weeks minus 4 days... Let's see what happens next week.

Hello everyone,

I was sponsored by my home country's government in my first year. So, the embassy refused to provide me the no objection statement. Then I requested my hardship waiver and it is not in DOS for 4 months. Do you guys think the previous sponsor from home country and absence of the no objection statement will impact the decision of DOS?

My understanding is that the main decision maker for hardship waivers is UCIS. Once it's sent from USCIS to DoS it's almost always approved. (which is why I don't understand why DoS is taking so long!!) It seems like if you have any kind of funding DoS takes longer to process your case. But then again we have people without governmental funding waiting for a year! 

 

For No Objection waivers, the decision maker is DoS.  So they are too different processes and I don't think one impacts the other

Yep, I guess no gov funding here and coming up to a year now 🙋‍♂️.

You can actually obtain cases based on your case number. Just count up and down around your number you can find a lot of cases.
