Hi everyone,

I finally received my K1 visa interview date, and it’s for January 20th. However, it looks like montreal is planning on implementing a curfew/lockdown.

Will this means my interview will get cancelled? Has anyone had their interview during the previous curfew?

What are my options?

I’m trying not to panic, but my anxiety is through the roof. I’m going on 18 months in this process….

I believe during previous lockdowns/curfews the US Consulate-General is considered an essential service and remained open. Additionally, travel to the consulate during a lockdown is also considered essential, so I think it should be fine.

The only issue that the Consulate had re. Covid was when the Department of State globally shut down visa operations in March 2020 when the poo was hitting the proverbial fan. Once MTL reopened in Aug 2020, it since stayed open. Hope this helps.
