Unfortunately, that is common for almost everyone who endures the spousal visa process.  Financial hardship, if it exists, might be more successful.

I told hubby to try using health challenge as reason, that they will approve it and he refused .

Others have already shared the trials with immigration that have only gotten worse in the current Covid times.  As to saving your marriage, you need to keep communicating with your husband, and if possible, maybe he can make another visit to you.  As @Crazy Cat mentioned, Lagos is a tough consulate, and more in person visits can only help your case when the interview comes up.

Also, maybe have your husband open up an account here on VJ, sometimes there is a benefit in reading about what others are also going through.

Good Luck!

Has anyone gotten interview date lately, I have been waiting since 14th jan. 2021, I am tired and frustrated.😞 Hubby is fed up with the whole visa thing, which makes his attitude towards me changed. Omg! 😲  how do I save my marriage 💑

The last batch of Cr1/ Ir1 at Lagos that got interview letters were DQ early November 2020. They had their interviews in November 2021. Since then Cr1/ Ir1 hasn't received IL. I know the wait isn't easy but it's just the norm now due to Covid.

Hubby has tried expedite request around October, yet no positive response. Pls is there any other means to get interview appointment so quick.

No.  The USC may have to move to Nigeria if you want to be together.

Your petition was submitted in January of 2021, which was WELL into the pandemic backlog, so the long wait should not come as any great surprise, honestly.

Any fabricated reason to expedite will be seen through by the consulate.  Not their first rodeo.

It’s still the same, petitions done in 2020 and 2021 are backlogged for the same reason.
I understand being frustrated, but that does not mean he’s entitled to change his attitude towards you. Have you both considered living together in Nigeria?

I'm not sure what pattern is being followed for issuing interview dates, but I don't understand how April 2021 DQ dates are getting interview letters. My spouse got DQ'd Jan 2021 and our case is still at NVC.
