Sorry for the late update. We had our biometrics appointment in Sacramento on 2/16. It was super fast less than 10 minutes. They stamped the biometrics appointment letter and gave it back to us.

Finally got our notice in the mail today. 24 months extension is the standard now I am guessing.

Yep! I think they changed it from 18 months to 24 months September of last year cuz of the backlog from covid I believe.

Yes that is correct 24 month extension due to the backlog caused by covid!

It has been exactly 2 months since I submitted the ROC application (got the NOA Jan 5) but I have not heard anything about biometrics at all. I asked in the thread before because we were expecting to hear back in about 4-6 weeks but now it has been 8. Lawyer told me to wait since it will probably get waived because they already have her biometrics. Should I call them and check on it or just wait? (We are at the California Service Center -WSC)

We are in the same boat as you, but yeah we just got to wait it out. My package went to SRC Texas Service Center. I don't  think it does much good to call them, but if you should let me know.

Texas center is really lagging, so I know how you feel.  We are also SRC waiting for Biometrics!

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It’s not like you’ll be out of status or anything if you don’t get your biometrics done. If you already have your 24 month extension letter I would just forget about it

I agree and that is reassuring. I was just asking because so many people here seem to have received their biometrics appointment or waiver that I feel a little uneasy not having heard back about it yet. Our lawyer agrees, we should just wait.

that share the same field office or service center holds more value as to when you first applied .

You do know that you can read office reviews here in VJ too, right?
