I know you mentioned we may get biometrics waivers. Have you seen that from other filers?

People who came on K1 visas have to adjust status. Until Covid, that required an interview and biometrics. Because of that, ROC interviews and biometrics are usually waived for them.  When you come on  IR-1/CR=1, you don't have to adjust status, so there are no interviews or biometrics and those then have to be done during ROC.

Do you know the qualifications for not getting one?

As what was pointed out in your case you don't have to worry about it, but to answer your question USCIS has their own criteria when they can reuse a particular set of bio-metrics. It's just a shame we have to send the bio fee in anyway just to be told its waived and your fee is non refundable...quick way to make extra money it seems LOL!!!

I hope mine is fast as well. When I AOSed, they took 60 days to send me the text message and cash the check. After that, it was very smooth and even quick. I hope they don't take 60 days to send me the initial text message! But I also hope for a fast process... So not exactly the opposite lol

Surely it won't take 60 days, but anything with USCIS is possible!

Nice. I heard it's a fairly quick process. Less than 15 mins from what I've read.

Yes, it's  painless and quick! If you live far from the center then the driving/travel would be the hardest part.

Make sure you don't  do anything to your finger tips  i.e., using nail polish remover etc several days before your appointment. Sometimes your prints don't take. When we were there for AOS two applicants could not get their prints read due to nail polish remover. It does not remove your prints of course. Somehow it interferes with the reader!
