Looking at the instructions now - page 5 - Evidence of the Relationship

Submit copies of as many documents as you can to establish this fact, to demonstrate the circumstances of the relationship from the date of the marriage to the present date......

Well boogers.  We got married in 2019, got green card in 2020.  I can only access 18 months of statements from one of my credit unions, the other I'm not sure.  I definitely don't have old insurance cards from 2019 or 2020. I feel the package we're putting together should be enough to prove that we're not a sham marriage.

Friend of mine went through this a few years ago.  He said he sent maybe a couple dozen pages total.  Just a few bank statements showing joint ownership and some pictures.  Makes me feel like I'm going overboard, but again, I'd rather give them plenty of stuff so they don't doubt us.

Just do YOU and you'll be fine, remember it's sometimes not the packet that hurts or helps you it's the mood of the IO. yes they are supposed to be professional, but they are human first!!!!!

Yeah I wouldn’t sweat it. In my case I have high functioning anxiety, so the more prepared I am, the bigger piece of mind if that makes sense. So as soon as my AOS got approved, I made an envelope called “ROC evidence”, and I started collecting evidence there, such as insurance cards, etc etc. It really helped me prepare for ROC I think. But you should be fine too. @Timona knows of a case that sent nothing but just the i751 form and got approved too. But to each their own; I’m just not that relaxed lol.

Yeah, between the two of us, she's the laid back one!  I just stress and stress and stress until something is done.  So while I'm going out of my mind right now, once the packet is in the mail (and maybe a couple more days so we can get the 797), I'll chill the f out.  Then it will be on to the next stress-inducing task lol

As soon as we got her SSN, we ran through all the banks and whatnot getting her added, knowing that we would need to at some point.  Some things like old insurance cards I just never thought anything of, so out they went.  Aside from going through pictures this week, and a single paper from the vet (and honestly if we don't get it I'm not gonna worry), we're pretty much at like 95% completion.  So yeah, not stressing, but definitely stressing lol

I’ll try next weekend. It’s just that the monthly bank statements add tons of paper!

Yes they do I agree the bad part is we will still have to continue collecting all this stuff from the day you sent your packet in until the interview date (provided we get one)!

One very important last check to make BEFORE you seal your package is to check the USCIS website for the correct fees and the version date of the actual I-751 as things change on a dime and you do not want to get caught short!!!

Boss (our cat) also wants to go in the package!! Lol.

@Sarge2155 I just took out the ACCO fasteners and the package and yes, they work!
@NihonJim not that you have to, but for some vehicle insurance cards you might be able to go online and get the previous ones. I think I was missing one, and that’s how I got it!

Ok, picture question!

Do pictures need to include both of us?  I mean, some yes, but I have exactly two pictures on my phone with both of us.  The rest are of my wife and the dog.  Her phone is very similar, just pictures of me and the dog (though she does have more than 2 pics of us on hers).  Reaching out to family for more pics.  But you think it's ok if we include pictures of just one of us?

No, what would be the purpose?

I always thought pictures had to include both people to show that you two are together.  I mean, I get that it makes sense that sometimes one of you will be behind the camera, just didn't know how USCIS thought about it.  I think every picture we sent for AOS had both of us in it.  But with COVID keeping us from really going anywhere the last two years, there aren't as many pictures of both of us as there are one of us.  Wish I could send an SD card of photos and videos.  If we're not at home we're at the dog park.

Ideally they want to see you two together!

Exactly. But ideally you are together in the pictures. Solo pictures are meaningless imho. We included around 10 pictures. Some of them we already sent for AOS, such as some wedding pics. But we also included some newer ones, both just the two of us, and with some people too.

So far so good mailed packet on the 4th of January and USCIS received it on the 6th of January. Got the text message with case number beginning with SRC (Texas Service Center) on 8th of January. Not worried about the check not being cashed as Uncle Sam will get his money!!!!

Good. Do let us know when you receive the extension letter.

Also, how did you attach the check to the package?

I paper clipped the check to the form G-1145 it was right near the very top they had no choice but to see it! Of course I'll post once the extension letter comes in! When are you sending yours off?

We've only got a few pictures of us together - covid ruining plans and then, when we finally got together with family for events we were too busy to think about getting someone to snap pictures. But, hey ho. We're submitting enough other evidence - the meaty stuff like mortgage and house deeds - so I don't think it's a big deal. I say just send what you have of the two of you together.

Some couples have not included pictures and did just fine. To me, pictures are sort of secondary evidence. If you do have more significant stuff such as a joint bank account or a mortgage then you're fine.
