Police certificate in Montreal?

Hey guys, 


I just realized my police certificate expired and I’m currently in Montreal for my medical appointment. My police certificate I got December 11 2020 and my appointment is Jan 05 2022. I’m from Nova Scotia and did it at my local police station but it took months to get and I’m so worried I won’t get it in time for my interview 😭

 

Does anyone the best/fastest place I can get the police certificate paperwork done in Laval or Montreal, and if anyone got theirs done recently how long did it take?? What happens if I don’t get it in time, should I still proceed to my appointment? Any advice?

What made you realize that? They are valid for 2 years in general for NVC processing.

Spouse:

2015-06-16: I-130 Sent

2015-08-17: I-130 approved

2015-09-23: NVC received file

2015-10-05: NVC assigned Case number, Invoice ID & Beneficiary ID

2016-06-30: DS-261 completed, AOS Fee Paid, WL received

2016-07-05: Received IV invoice, IV Fee Paid

2016-07-06: DS-260 Submitted

2016-07-07: AOS and IV Package mailed

2016-07-08: NVC Scan

2016-08-08: Case Complete

2017-06-30: Interview, approved

2017-07-04: Visa in hand

2017-08-01: Entry to US

When I was looking over the pre-interview checklist it states: 

 

“If you previously submitted a police certifciate to NVC, it is more than one (1) year old, and you still live in that country, you must obtain and bring a more recent police certificate to your visa interview as the one you previously submitted will have expired.” 
 

Is there info elsewhere that conflicts this that I can refer to at my interview in case I don’t get the document in time?

They increased the validity to 2 years during this covid time.

 

Important: Police certificates expire after two years, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

However the CO still has authority to ask for non expired PC if he suspects anything.
