I work out/rock out to System of a Down lately....I'm so frustrated I have to listen to angry music and beat myself up but it gives such a great workout...too bad there's no headbangning smiley thing lol.

What do you listen to when you exercise?

Working out, you say... hmmm, now there's an interesting concept.

(I am so lazy... not been near a gym in ages.)

I still refuse to set foot in a gym.

why? you're there for you not anyone else. just remember noone in the gym started out where they are today. plus you'd be suprised how many others in the gym are as if not more self conscious than you are. i've learned a lot of work out "secrets" just watching & listening. you may even make some really good friends while you're there. i'd give it a shot, if i were you.

LOL...I've never been to a gym as seeing I've been a semi-fat chick for like my whole life...but last summer I bought an elliptical machine at a yardsale for $5 and used it till it broke! (Which made me think I was really fat but honestly I weighed 220 at the time and the machine should have been able to handle it.)

Long story short, when I got back from Egypt in April, I had a new elliptical machine waiting for me and owed my mom like $500, because I still refuse to set foot in a gym. My fiance wants to be able to pick me up by the time he gets to the states soooo we're both working on it.

I know, but now I have this crazy expensive machine so it would be pointless to have paid so much and then not use it.

My fiance prefers the gym, so when he gets here we might go together and by then I'll be ok with myself enough to actually go. If not, hellllo elliptical :)

And say, worst case scenario, if we got denied and I ended up moving to Egypt to be with him, no way in hell am I paying shipping for the elliptical machine that's 6 feet long and I can barely drag across the floor! LOL. So then I would have to go to the gym there.

Divorced. To hell with him.

 but it's SOOO true.

If you buy an elliptical for the home, stay away from the cheap ones like Orbitrek. The first one I had broke in the middle of my workout and left me with a 3 inch scar on my calf. Sure, they sent me a new one for free (provided I didn't tell them I wasn't the original owner or that I got it at a yardsale!) but then within 100 minutes of use, this one broke as well. I decided it wasn't worth the safety risk or another scar and went out and spent some extra money because with exercise machines, you really do get what you pay for.

:)

(That second Orbitrek was such garbage, the handles kept hitting my boobs. I guess you have to be totally flat-chested and weigh 110 already so you don't break it  )

Yeah, I make sure I have a bunch of upbeat songs so I don't hit a lull, if I hit a song I can't get a good rhythm going I have to like change the CD or skip songs or else my workout dragssss.

Certain kinds of Arabic music is good for a cool down exercises :)
