So this may seem stupid but I can't find the answer anywhere.. my husband has a greencard and went back home for a month to spend the holiday with family. He's coming back to USA January 6. We got the tickets and the airline is asking for visa info. I know that's normal, I'm just confused on how to fill it out.. I don't know what to put for visa number or date of issue since the greencard only has date of entry I believe... He has his original visa as well, but I'm pretty sure it's invalid now since he's in possession of the greencard already? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, and also any insight on how to fill out this visa info section? Thanks

If the question is specifically about a visa, answer "Not applicable -- Passenger is a green card holder".  LPRs do not need a visa to travel to the US.  If the airline is asking about a travel document, answer "green card" and provide the GC details.

There is no option to select the document type. It's just visa.... And I'm assuming they need the information to make sure he's authorized to travel so saying not applicable won't help... Because they'd probably use the numbers to verify..😅

What if it was you that was travelling?

Obviously USC's do not need a visa.

He should contact the airline, total guess but it may be that they somehow have him down in their system as not having a GC.

Its the use of a non US passport which has triggered this section. Leave it blank.  He wont be able to check in online but that is ok. On arriving at check in he will present his green card and passport and they will complete the required check  in process
