My son was registered when we were doing our AOSfrom K1 and K2's heck they registered him before he even turned 18 or approved our GC.

By law 17 year olds are permitted to pre-register.  This is because the law requires men to register within 10 days of turning age 18 and at the time the law was written the Internet was not an option. 10 days isn’t always enough to register by mail.

After your son’s 90 day authorized stay expired he was no longer a non-immigrant exempt from registration.  The filing of I-485 extended his authorized stay but not his non-immigrant status. Thus sometimes USCIS does what it promises to do in the I-485 form and registers men before their petitions are approved.

So I sent the requested documents printed from the selective service website and other required documents on the 21st December 2021 and I got a notification that it was delivered and received on the 22nd December 2021. Checked my online case status and it still got the same thing as it had before my interview which is “Interview is Scheduled” so I’m curious to know if they will ask me to come in for another interview or just schedule me for a swearing in ceremony. I know they always ask what time is best for u to come in for swearing in but not sure how this one will go cos I asked the IO on the day of my interview if I’ll need to come in for another one but she said no so that they just need me to send the requested documents which I’ve already done so I’m just confused overall. But I guess I have to play the waiting game and see what comes next, Someone Please someone advise!!! Thanks in advance ya’ll, Blessings 🙏🏾…

@Mike E Hey guys I just received a mail from USCIS saying “This is to advice you that due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the previously scheduled oath ceremony on Thursday 20th 2022 at 2pm for the above applicant. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. We will advice you of any further action taken on this case, including any rescheduled interview appointment information, under separate notice.” So now I’m confused as to what’s going on and why it was cancelled. Any idea or advice on this??? Has anyone ever experienced this type of scenario before?

This has nothing to do with SSS and everything to do with the world wide omicron pandemic. If you have cold, flu, or Covid symptoms and work at USCIS you are likely being told to stay home.  So USCIS has less staff and oaths and interviews are being canceled en mass as a result.
